3 week stall turning to 4 week stall

Hang in there! I am in the same stall and we will get through it. I keep busting my butt at the gym and following my program knowing it will pay off sometime in the future. Logically, we all know stalls happen and is a normal part of the process. Unfortunately, it does not make it any easier when we are in the middle of it and it always seems so so long! Hang in there and the scale will start showing your hard work again soon!

When did you return to the gym?

I was back to walking on the treadmill at 2 weeks post op and lifting weights at 4 weeks post op. I am new to using the gym, but have been faithfully going 5-6 days a week since I was cleared. It is amazing how much better I feel after a good work out and getting sweaty!

I prefer the MFP interface over the others I have tried.

I highly suggest calling your surgeons office and just talking to the doc on call. It is always better to be safe than sorry. Please let the doctor make the call if this is concerning or not. Let us know how you are doing.

Yesterday was a rough day for me

You can do this! We all fall of the wagon sometimes. What matters is if you get back on or stay off! Give yourself a break once in a while as long as you go back to your healthy ways and stay healthy more often than not. You can do this and you have the knowledge to not stay off the wagon. Good luck!

    3 days post op

I am on 40mg of Omeprazole and have been since 4 weeks before surgery. I was told I would be on it for at least the first 6 months after surgery.

    Who loves pb2?

I've fallen in love with PB2 also! I use it in my protein shakes mostly. I have mixed it with water and used it for my fruit too, but that is it. I am really interested in any other uses others have!

    anyone have Cigna?

I also have Cigna and was approved on the first try. I am now 5 weeks post op and all of my claims have been processed and paid. As long as you meet their guidelines and meet their requirements you shouldn't have any problems. The guidelines can be found here: https://cignaforhcp.cigna.com/public/content/pdf/coveragePolicies/medical/mm_0051_coveragepositioncriteria_bariatric_surgery.pdf The one thing that trips a lot of people up is the 3 month physician monitored weight loss program. You need to actually have 4 visits with your doc because you need the first appointment to initiate the process. Make sure the appointments are at least 31 days apart. You also have to make sure your doctor documents each of these at EVERY appointment - your weight -your current dietary program (ie: weight watchers, 1500 calorie diet, or what ever you are doing for your diet) and also -your physical activity program (ie walking 1 block twice a day 4 days a week, walking on a treadmill 20 minutes a day 5 days a week, riding your bike 3 miles a day for 6 days a week, etc) Good luck and please keep in touch!

    Upper Arm Flabby Skin

I am only 1 month post op and have already started working with lifting weights. I am hoping building up my muscles and toning everything up will help keep the loose skin to a minimum.

    Just sleeved 6 days ago

You would not believe how fast liquid can pass through your sleeve! I had an upper GI because of heartburn 2 weeks post op and I got to watch as I swallowed the barium. I could barely make out how small my new stomach is because the liquid barium flowed through so fast, if you blinked you missed my tiny tummy. You could see my intestines really well though the radiologist was making me drink more and more barium so he could try and catch a look at all of my tummy. He started laughing after a bit and we determined my new tummy must be camera shy. Moral of the story is liquids can really flow through your stomach extremely quickly. You may not feel any restriction until you eat solids which stay in there a bit longer.
  19. Wow glad I am not alone! My Mirena has been in place for 6 years and scheduled to remove it in a few weeks. I haven't had a menstrual cycle in over 5 years and then got one 2 weeks after surgery. I am really debating about having another IUD placed (non hormonal) because I have really loved not dealing with my period for all of these years. My husband had a vasectomy a few years ago so we don't have to worry about birth control. I could go another 5-6 years without a period easily and not miss it one iota!
  20. I haven't had diet coke in 3 months or more, but for some odd reason I REALLY want some today. And not just a can of pop, oh no, my body wants a 32oz ice cold fountain diet coke! Yum yum. I guess I just treat this like any other craving and ignore it until it goes away. It just strikes me as odd because it is the first time I have wanted pop in a long time and it is such a strong craving. Way stronger than any other craving I have had since I started the pre op process.
  21. According to my surgeon pudding is part of the full liquid diet. I would double check your surgeons protocol.

    Blob support/girdles ?

I found a pair of spanx type high waisted underwear in a size too big really really helped without being too tight or uncomfortable.

    Post-Op Fatigue

No way I could have. I was 10 days post op before I made it to my "hockey son's" game. He isn't my son biologically, but has been folded in as one of my kids and we go see him play as much as physically possible. Even at 10 & 11 days post op I was beyond exhausted after the travel and watching 2 games. Give yourself time to heal and you can try to catch the next game if you feel up to it.

I am seriously craving diet Coke!

Thanks guys. I am just ignoring the craving and hoping it will go away. Eventually it will stop. I just hope it is soon!
