If it comes up in conversation I discuss it and don't hide from anyone. I have been judged heavily for many decisions I have made in my life and have grown thick skin. At this point in my life, they can shove it if they don't agree with my decisions. It won't be the first or last time people judge me or disagree with my decision!

What happened in the past stays in the past. You can't change it so let It go and forgive yourself. No one is perfect.start again tomorrow and try again. The wagon is waiting for you.

I am so sorry you went all through the process only to find that out when you are ready to schedule surgery. My insurance has the same requirement for the Center of Excellence, but it had to a Cigna designated COE. I had appointments scheduled with a provider just over an hour away and was 2 days before my first appointment before I found out the hospital didn't meet the requirements. The closest COE is 3 hours each way. While not convenient, I will drive for this. Good luck finding a doctor you like and a place that meets your insurance requirements. -
August 2014 sleevers!
Luvin_Life125 replied to val326's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am working hard to get my surgery done before Labor Day. My kids go back to school the day after Labor Day and I want to be done before that circus starts. My last NUT & Psych appointments are scheduled for 7/22, my last monthly weight loss appointment with my primary care is 8/5. After that I only have to have an EGD and then it is on to surgery hopefully! -
I know this has been asked a million times, but....
Luvin_Life125 replied to JenSul's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeons office said at least 4 months to get through their requirements, not including insurance requirements. They are a Center of Excellence organization and they are thorough. I am steadily working my way through their requirements and my insurance requirements at the same time. My last weight management appointment with my primary care is 8/5. My file will be sent to insurance for prior authorization after that and hopefully surgery can be done before Labor Day! -
What do you do instead of "Going out to dinner"?
Luvin_Life125 replied to Writerjennifer's topic in The Lounge
My hubby and I were just discussing the same topic. We have decided to try water activities over the summer that we have never done. We are going to plan canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and anything else we see that looks fun. For the winter (6-7 months long up here) we are going to sign up for different classes offered to the community. Our winter class list so far is: yoga, dancing, painting, and glass mosaics. We will add more as the community schedules them. What a better way to spend time together learning new things! We can't wait! -
Great job! I want to see the twerking video!

SWIMSUIT SEASON!
Luvin_Life125 replied to xmarycontraryx's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I LOVE the Land's End suits because you can get them with a built in bra or underwire. I am busty and when I start losing weight after surgery support is going to be key if I want to keep my boobs up off my belly when I was quite a bit thinner I loved their board shorts with mix and match tops. They also don't shift or ride up. I would also love to know of other places with cute suits with built in bra support. I am planning on stocking up on some cute suits once they start clearancing them so I have some for next winter. -
What did you tell your children?
Luvin_Life125 replied to livingmore's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been upfront and honest with my 7 & 10 year old boys. I explained I am having surgery because I have tried and tried to lose weight on my own and have not been successful and that I need to be healthy so I can do more things with them. I also have severe chronic low back pain I have been battling and out of work for almost 3 years for. I have explained losing a large amount of weight could possibly help the pain too. My children understand and ask questions when they come up with them. Both children have also watched YouTube videos of the actual surgery. They are quite fascinated by it. -

feedback please: yoga for heavy people and/or pre WLS
Luvin_Life125 replied to Pookeyism's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I always look at the ads for yoga locally and would love to see a class for overweight people. I walked in to observe a yoga class once and there was NO way I would have joined it. Everyone there was thin and flexible and I would have never been comfortable! I do already meditate at home and really really want to do yoga. I just don't want to stick out like a sore thumb or feel uncomfortable. I love your idea! -
I like dress barn for work appropriate dresses and check out if there is a store called "Clothes Mentor" in your area. It is the grown up equivalent to Once Upon a Child and Platos closet. They are very picky about the clothes they accept and their pricing, while not cheap, is definitely better than buying items new. You are going to be on the loser's bench soon so it doesn't have to last 10 years. Good luck at your interview!

Searching for hiking/active clothing
Luvin_Life125 replied to veganjello's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Do you happen to have any family or friends living in other states or visiting other states where hiking and outdoor activities are common? Maybe they would be willing to scope out thrift stores and Facebook groups in their area and ship to you? We have a vacation to South Dakota and Nebraska this summer and I have big plans to hit some of the thrift stores and get some different sizes to get me through the rapid loss! -

Fibromyalgia and stalls
Luvin_Life125 replied to Lynnheb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am worried about having similar problems. I have chronic low back and leg pain and take many medications just to have basic function. I hope the pain will improve as I lose weight. I am worried between the medications, daily pain, an limited mobility that my weight and surgical success will be hindered. Good luck and I hope this stall breaks soon once your body adjusts. -

Amazing work! Thank you so much for sharing. The plastic surgeons really are artists and it is truly amazing what they are able to accomplish on the human body. You look magnificent! -
We never stayed either. Once you are awake and able to eat and drink you are on your way home. Good luck!

Great motivation! I have been searching thrift stores and garage sales for clothes in various smaller sizes and I box them by size so As I lose I can grab the box I need. It is so weird though because I look at these clothes and can not imagine ever fitting into them. I will only buy down to a size 12 and very few in that size. I wear a 2x or 3x top depending on how my boobs fit in it and a 20/22 jeans. I have worn plus sized clothes for over 14 years and I still can't accept that I might get to wear regular sized clothes. I applaud you for having the vision to motivate yourself to reach small sizes!

Surgery was Wednesday, Is today Day 3 or 4?
Luvin_Life125 replied to SnohoGal98296's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I always called surgery day as day zero. The day after surgery is day 1. I hope that helps! -
The EGD is pretty easy and painless. You will be given medication through the IV to keep you comfortable and they use a spray to numb your throat when they put the camera down. My 7 year old has had over 25 EGDs and he says they are easy. You will sail right through it and be one step closer to the loser's bench!

Cigna 90 days medically supervised weight management
Luvin_Life125 replied to Luigi5144's topic in Insurance & Financing
I am glad the recent Cigna requirements are a bit easier to meet! I must have started really pursuing bariatric surgery at the right time and so did you. Please keep in touch as we go through the process. It is wonderful to connect with people dealing with the same issues.
