I have to tell you all that ive been having a real rough time. I'm almost 6 weeks post-op and i haven't weighed myself since 4 weeks ago. I can tell that ive gained some if not all my weight back. I know that this is a "recovery period", but im so depressed and ashamed of myself that i can't control myself. I have NO restriction, im waiting for my first fill on Nov. 7th. I called the head nurse and i told her im really struggling and she said "OH NO, i hope you didn't gain any weight back? Just drink Water when your hungry". I was like..."HUH"? If i could DO THAT i wouldn't have done this SURGERY!!!! Anyway, don't get me wrong i love my band so far, but im freaking out about what my doctor is going to say when i go in to see him. See most of their patients are bypass. They lose like crazy, so i think they expect me to lose the same way! I was thinking about going on a liquid diet (again) the week before i see my doctor. It's gonna be tough, but im just scared. What should i do? Oh man, i sound like nut don't i??? -RUBINA

My port area has always been sensitive, but for the last 3 days if i bend over just a little or turn i feel this sharp pain near my belly button !!! It's a sharp pain and it's freaking me out. Has anyone had pain like this before? Please help me out here. I called my doc and he said it could be scar tissue healing, but if it persists i should go to emergency. I just want to hear other opinions. Thanks, RUBINA

I have Hydrocodone for the evening, but I take liquid tylenol during the day for pain. I just don't want to take it on a daily basis. It helps a little. Im 5 weeks post-op and my doc said it could take MONTHS before i start to completely heal. Oh man...i just want it to go away. -RUBINA

Hi everyone, i am waiting for an approval for my band. I just wanted to know if anyone here has heard or used Dr. Andrew Hajduczek for lap-band surgery? He's located in the LA-ORANGE county. Thanks!

Has anyone had Dr. David G. Davtyan as their lap-band surgeon? If so please let me know how your experience is/was?

Well, thanks for your responses. I really want to make the right decision. I have met my Dr and he has a very nice bed side manner. I felt very comfortable with him. He has ALOT of expericence with lapriscopic surgeries. He's done more bypass surgeries then lap-band, but he said he's been trained through Inamed for banding procedure and if im lucky my insurance will cover the whole procedure. He also said that they use the new band from Inamed i think it's the VG band? My BMI is 70 and he said that would work the best for me. I really have to lose this weight. Im in alot of physical pain and ive been heavy most of my life. I never lose hope, but im counting on this to be the tool i need to get me through the tough times. So if you all have anything to add i would love to hear from ya! Thanks! P.S. I have e-mailed my Dr's office and asked if i can speak to some of his lap-band patients. Thanks for the advice PENNI!
