I am a somewhat unconventional patient, with a BMI between 32 and 33. I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease at 17, and I managed to make it to 27 before I had to have surgery for it. Since the surgery in 2012 , I have had difficulty exercising like I want to because of residual pain. It seems like my weight just keeps going up, and the more I gain, the more I hurt. I am hoping that, if I can get back down to 130 pounds (like I once was), that I will be in far less pain. I am hoping to learn from others in similar situations (chronic back pain, similar start weight, etc.)
