I really like the Ortholo as I have been on it for years with great results, I had tried Yaz (if I'm not mistaken that's the brand for Gianvi) in the past and had horrible side effects so I prefer to stay in ortho low but I'm just worried about having unnecessary weight gain from it.... So I guess it's not like a written rule that you gain weight from it but I guess everybody's individual. I just feel like I've been through so much and tried so hard that to counteract it right now would just be silly.... I did get my period Once one week after surgery, and that was it, in the past I have never gotten that before without the pills....

i really dont feel like im not eating enough, i had a light coleslaw about a cup, fresh salmon for lunch and a slice of pizza for dinner (that was a splurge just really craved it) so i feel like im eating a normal amount someone on a diet would eat and more than a sleeve pt should be eating! although i feel full easy...i dunno im so confused as to whats normal and as far as the exercise it pushes me to do good and i enjoy it....i have an all or nothing personality which might be my downfall now -
I am a little over a month out and have been walking 5-7 miles a day depending on my schedule, i am ready for something more intense. My dr said i am good to go although i still Feel some incision pain in 1 spot , but ive read that alot of people feel it in that specific spot for a while. I signed up for kickboxing and although i know i cant get too crazy i am excited but nervous that ill be the "fat" one who cant keep up :/

Thanks all yes i live in Brooklyn so Pre made food is everywhere! Rotisserie is a great idea, i have heard that deli meats in general is just not healthy so was trying to stay away but ill try it, im guessing maybe raw veggies weren't a good idea! Although it's been a month I feel like i i can eat anything. And I know that's wrong! I just want to eat something so I'm not hungry after

i am a long time sufferer of heartburn and have been on nexium for years, when i saw my GI she seemed to think with weight loss that might go away.... now that im 9 days post op and on liquids of course i have no heartburn and my surgeon did prescribe Pepcid in liquid form. i haven't been taking it bc the liquid meds r so nasty to me. but i see alot of ppl post that acid cause hunger and etc...did u all take it after surgery? or is it ok to skip it?
-
i never noticed that before, i just looked up my surgeon and he does have that title, so thats a relief. but what i meant to say was not all but most from what ive read, alot of ppl that have great results, achieved them by doing completely different things post op from other pts and those pts have amazing results as well....i mean theres no standard. although the course of the procedure differs from surgeon to surgeon dont we all get sleeved the same way in the end?
-
hi everyone! im 9 days out! feeling great but just a bit concerned; ive been reading these forums and seeing that some ppl seem to say that there are different size sleeves, when i asked the dr i was told no, theyre all a standard size b/c of the machine they use to sleeve i guess and also if they came in different sizes the results would be inconsistent. i am on the post op 2 week liquid diet, and after days of broth and sf jello and popsicles i read here that egg drop soup is ok, so of course i jumped on the opportunity. i cant look at the same foods over and over and havent eaten all day so my concern is i had the egg drop, i ordered a small which is 16oz and ate the whole thing within 15 minutes no problem. i am def full but never had any vomiting or anything. how can a new sleeve hold 16oz?! i lost 10 pounds the day i was home from hosp and a week later im still there, that makes me feel so discouraged and i totally understand everyone loses at their own pace but the fact that i feel hunger and can hold food down actually worries me!!! is it just me? plz tell me im crazy

I think its so strange that we've all had the same surgery and have such different post op instructions ranging from post op diet to meds after etc that makes me wonder how our results can eventually be the same.... I took the meds today i would much rather swallow my nexium capsule but i was told no pills bc of possible sharp edges but this is a capsule i wonder if its allowed...

thanks so much all!! a bunch of mixed reviews, seeing as some drs dont even prescribe it. i think ill give him a call just to double check

worried new sleever here :)

Thank u for reassuring me! i thought the anxieties and worries about the surgery would end once i had the sleeve and now that im post op its a whole different ball game of worries :/ but i have read that once u have the sleeve, liquid funnels through your stomach rather than sitting in it like solids. i guess a part of me was testing it, which i know is stupid, but i know the container is 16oz and i truly felt hunger and felt like let me keep going, its the 1st time i did that b/c i do consistently sip 4oz give or take. do you have an idea if liquid doesnt sit in the sleeve, then how can someone feel full on a liquid diet? ive heard about the ghrelin being cut out, and although of course i dont feel hunger like i used to, i still have some hunger, my husband seems to think pms has something to do with it??
