yes, ive been to the seminar. thanks for the reply. Im scheduled for the consults on the 4th of dec. Im going to check and see if i can see the dr the same day. thanks so much. Ive already been approved by insurance but now I just have to get it done by the end of the plan year which is dec. 31st. UGH!!!!

Im not sure exactly how long it took but it couldnt have been more than a couple of weeks. I spoke to the insurance specialist at the lap band clinic about 2 weeks ago and she had just gotten all my medical records together. So, I figured she submitted to insurance shortly after that. I sent all my records I could come up with so they didnt ask for more. I believe they went back for 10 years-they require 5. So, I covered all my bases. good luck to all!!!!

I have UHC PPO and all Ive read about on here is UHC CHOICE PLUS. Are they different? Is one more difficult to get approved? IM going to see the insurance specialist at Dr adam Smiths office on Monday and I hope I have some luck.

I am wondering if anyone works for circuit City and if so, what kind of insurance do you have. My husband works for best buy now and we have uhc, awesome-no copay, they cover 80%, I love it. Well, he has a chance to switch to circuit city, and double his salary. My only concern is the insurance. Im in desperate need of this surgery and the only reason I can consider it is becuase the insurance company will pay 100& after I meet the 2500 out of pocket maximum, which Im about to do. I cant get pregnant now because of my weight, it has totally messed up my fertility. THAT IS MY MOTIVATION FOR THE SURGERY!!!!! THANKS ALL!!!

Yes, unfortunately, I do have PCOS. Ive had so many problems because of it and am just so fed up. My gyno told me that losing weight would help a lot. Thats one of the biggest reasons I want to have the lap band done. Ive tried everything and nothing seems to work. I know that unless I lose weight, I will never be a mother, especially a healthy one.

I was looking at my benefits which I got all the paperwork today in the mail. It said: list of exclusions-things that are not covered. 9. non surgical treatment of obesity, including morbid obesity. 10. surgical treatment of obesity EXCLUDING sever morbid obesity(with bmi of greater than 35) WHICH MEANS THAT IF YOUR BMI IS GREATER THAN 35-THEY WILL COVER IT!!!!!! My bmi is 43 and I have helath conditions so Im hoping to get the ball rolling soon!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!:clap2::clap2:
