Hi all, I joined this website when I got my lap band many moons ago, and just over a week ago I got my band to sleeve revision. Thank gosh that blasted band is gone! I hated it and it never worked for me, slipped right after surgery and since I had it done in Mexico, my PCP wouldn't touch it. Anyhow, I am just so thankful I was able to get sleeved without having to wait between surgeries. I have been on liquids and just started on creamy Soups, Tomato and cheese. Trying to get in my Protein through Protein shakes, but I think I am coming up a little short. Doing fairly well with Water intake. I guess the only complaint I have is I have had diarrhea since the surgery. I am thinking it is the antibiotic I am on, so only two more days and I'm done with them. Had my surgery with Dr. Almanza in TJ. Energy level is a little low and sometimes at work if things get stressful I actually get pretty shaky, so I have taken to having two small squares of dark chocolate just to give me a little energy boost to get me through those shaky times. Other than that I am sticking to the diet fairly well. Hope anyone considering dumping the band does it...those bands are bad news, and who wants a foreign object in their bodies!

I get mine done in Arlington, Washington about an hour north of Seattle at Northwest Fill Management. I have used them twice and all is good! You can find them on the interent by searching. Good luck!

DeyonBush, don't be scared...I was and everything is going really well for me thus far. I was sick right after the surgery with the flu, but all I've had is some gas pains in my stomach and am not having any trouble eating things. I got banded last Friday and I am already eating (very slowly) mushy foods. You'll do great!

Hi All, I just got back from my surgery in Mexico last night. The surgery went fine, but I picked up a very severe cold/flu right before I left friday night, I could feel it in my chest. Well by Sunday I was miserable with it...the whole deal congestion coughing, diarrea, running nose. The trip back was absolutely horrible. Then in Dallas the plane broke down and I was stuck. I called my husband in tears I wanted to be home so bad. Well they finally got me on another flight but I literally had to run to catch it. Also in Seattle to make my connection. When my husband and I saw each other we both started crying. It was quite an ordeal. I am so sick I don't really feel the surgery effects other than the gas pains and some pain at the incision sites. My doc has me on liquids only for this week and to be honest I haven't felt any hunger at all, don't really even want to eat or drink. My husband is beside himself with worry over me getting dehydrated, so when I get up to showering we are going to the store to get me some gatorade and some creamy soups. The good news is I have been able to take all my meds and some cold pills with no problem so far, oh an I got on the scale and with the pre-op diet and the lack of food for 4 days I'm down 12 lbs! Boy you guys are all troopers! I leave tonight for my procedure tommorrow at 10:30am. I am getting nervous and dreading the long flight, but I'm hopeing it will all work out. I guess what I am most concerned about is the flight home on Sunday. It's probably not going to be pretty as I will have to be sitting for long stretches of time and will be bloated. Oh well...this to will pass right! Boy when I get home I'm going to make my husband baby me for a change lol! I got the headache to when I started low carb...I think it was a combo of no carbs and no cafferine. That's what I will miss most...my diet pop...but you know what they say about carbonated drinks=pain! Don't want that!

Hey guys, I don't feel like your picking on me...It's just that I have to travel starting at 5:00pm Thursday night before my surgery all night until 10:30am in the morning Friday to get to my surgery site (Red Eye from Washington State to Monerrey Mx) and since I am only taking a backpack I can't take my liquid protien drinks with me, so I thought well I could stop on the way to the airport and have a farwell dinner with my husband since he can't go with me. I didn't realize one meal right before surgery could effect the liver size so quickly. So I'll just have a Protein Drink before I go thru secuirty and then Water from then on. Thanks for all the support!

Way to got Longhorn! Glad to hear your procedure went so well...now I only wish mine does! So I'm thinking about having a last grand meal before I go in..what do you all think! I have lost 10 lbs pre-op so maybe one cheat (my last one) before I go in? Something loaded with carbs!

Wow Andie, Thanks so much! I do feel a little better. I'm going to Monerray, and I've heard nothing but good things. I'm leaving thursday night and flying all night arriving at around 10:30am then straight to the hospital to start the preop stuff. Surgery that afternoon. Hey, I just noticed where the same age! Seems we could be a good source of support for each other! Thanks for the kind words of support...now I've just got to get on that plane and go! No looking back!

I'm worried about alot of things with getting this done, but I feel very desprate..like this is my last chance. I want to have a good quality of like and that means getting at least 90lbs off. </p> <p> </p> <p>I guess I'm just afraid this like everything else I've tried won't work either, also I am going to Mexico to get my band and that scares me also. I have to go bymyself cuz hubby has to work and take care of the critters! Hey Carsons Mommy, our surgery date is the same day! Are you getting nervous...I am... I am also doing the protien drink thing, but I like the atkins advantage ready shakes the best. They actually taste good! Good luck everyone in Nov!

I tried the hynosis route just this year ... It worked well for about 4 months and I lost about 20 lbs, but then my subcon started working against me and it was all over. Never worked for me after that and like always, I gave up. So the lap band is truely my last hope, but after reading in here I am really having doubts about going thru with it...It is scaring the pants off me!

NO...,but I did contact them and they said they only fill their patients. I guess I'm stuck going over to the Seattle area to get my fills. When in Nov are you getting banded...I'm scheduled for Nove. 9th in Mexico.

Hi Guys! I'm a November Bandster! My Surgery date is Nov 9th with Dr. Rodregiez in Monterrey, Mx. I am very nervous about going to Mexico but at this point I'm just trying not to think about it to hard. Good luck to all of you and I will be looking forward to your success stories (as well as my own)!

O.k. While I'm not exactly 'Banded4Life' yet, I did get my plane tickets today for my surgery on November 9th. I'm going to Dr. Rodregiz in Monterry, Mexico and I am very nervous but trying to just maintain if ya know what I mean. :help: Starting weight about 235 and wanting to get to 145 at least!
