August 5th sleevers? New here :)
heygirlfriendBB replied to sleevingbeauty23's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too used Dr Kim at Kim Bariatric Institute! He performed my gastric sleeve in 2011 and I've since lost 100+ lbs. Great office staff and wonderful aftercare! We also have a private support group for 24/7 support along your journey. In regards to the gentleman who lost his legs.....yes, a very sad story reported on TV/online....but unfortunately....not the whole story. Dr Kim was not at the hospital and a new Dr hired by KBI was there to assist/observe Dr Holden....unfortunately she chose to start the procedure on her own. Fortunately for the gentleman, Dr Holden came into the OR and saved his life!!! The other Dr is now practicing at another facility. Please, do not judge KBI by the story that has not reported all the facts. We wish you all the best with whoever you use!! -

Dr Kim performed my inverted gastric sleeve in 2011...100+ lbs GONE!!! Life is so much better now! No more high blood pressure and no more sleep apnea! YAY!! And I agree with Tiff.....we do have the most amazing aftercare support group page on Facebook. It is private and only for patients of Kim Bariatric Institute and many wonderful friendships have blossomed from our mutual desires to help each other be successful. He has an office in Colleyville and Frisco...so hopfully we will see you there soon!! -
How exciting for you to be getting so close!! Was the 4 month liquid a requirement or something you self imposed? That's a really long time on liquids! Glad to know you are down 50 lbs! WAHOO!! I know my life has changed tremendously since surgery....in a very good way! lol I know you will do great!

heygirlfriendBB replied to Chubtastic's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Chubtastic - I know you have stated that you've been to Kim Bariatric and saw Dr. Kim who was out of your network, they also have Dr Holden on staff who could be in your network or check out their MBA program if your insurance doesn't cover. Dr Kim did my sleeve in 2011 and I could not be happier!! -
I was sleeved in 2011, since lost 100 lbs and life has not been the same since! For the first time in many years.... I'm participating in life!! It is a lifestyle change, changing life long habits, watching my portions and food intake... But I would do it all over again !! The fact that I have my health back and loving life again is a great motivational reminder for me. Wish you all much success along your journey. Stay focused and stay positive !!

Dr Kim performed my gastric sleeve in 2011. I've since lost 100 lbs, high blood pressure and no more sleep apenea!!! I'm so glad that I chose Kim Bariatric!! Now I can do so many things that I never dreamed of doing in the past....well...maybe dreamed but never thought I'd actually do them. I've zipped lined, ran in 5K's, 10'K's, shopped in regular stores, fit comfortably in an airline seat, and the list goes one!! It's a wonderful journey and I'm so glad I've been given then second opportunity to enjoy my life!!
