  1. I emailed my NUT yesterday and she says it sounds all good - what I am doing and where I am. She's going to log into my myfitnesspal and make sure I am eating right. It's nice to have someone like that as a resource!
  2. Lylabelle I know how you feel! I work for a company in hospitality that focuses on entertaining clients and I, too, have some travel coming up that will require some creativity in the eating department. I am just glad that my first trip isn't til August - so I will have two months under my belt before I have to figure it out!
  3. Lylabelle - look into BARIATRIC FUSION vitamins from bariatricchoice.com. We were given a comparison chart of all the vitamin types and what they have - these have the most and I only have to chew 4 a day and no other vitamins!!
  4. Jajmj07 on MFP. Can y'all try and add me!? If you need email it's jajmj07@yahoo.com

    carbohydrates

I read on here that less than 50g a day is a good measure
  7. Ordered this. Can't wait to get it this week!

Anybody else tired of the attention?

I have a few friends who are fixated on the number, too. I tell them that I am not worried about that because it's a marathon and not a sprint. Usually shuts them up.
  9. Habsi what can you eat now as we all had surgery the same week but all our diets seem to be At different phases. I have a scrambled egg with asparagus And shred cheese around 6am then usually yogurt around 9 then lunch of deli sliced chicken and a string cheese at noon then some snack around 2 or 3 and dinner may be egg muffin or a shake or something. It depends on where I am with my protein. I throw a shake in there where I need to. I went back to work this week and have walked 10,000+ steps a day - my goal is to do that a MINIMUM of 5 days a week. Hope that helps.
  10. I will see what he says next meeting. I did my 1 week post op and now I can't get in til July 9th cuz of the holiday the week before. Surgery was 5/28. Will see what happens
  11. Hrhlaurie - so we are the same height. I haven't seen 150lbs since 8th grade and I am almost 46!! Is it weird that my doc and I never discussed goal weight, weight loss amount, anything like that? I just feel like I have no idea what the different weights are like so I will know when I get there!!
  12. I had it before but no problems since. Keeping my fingers crossed!!
  13. Hrhlaurie - how tall are you?
  14. Only had those shots daily while in the hospital. It was funny cuz right before the injection the nurse said, "this is going to burn" ....so I waited a minute and said, "is it a delayed thing cuz I don't feel anything!" Guess I am lucky!
  15. I NEVER would have gotten that one - ha ha. Thank you!!
  16. Boccob - straight pear juice. Baby food aisle. Sure fix!!
  17. Lylabelle maybe you would post a list on here and FB - the abbreviations and what they mean so we are all on the same page and providing the same information!? NSV is one I am stuck on!! Thank you, in advance!
  18. Hrhlaurie - try some unsweetened applesauce or pure pear juice. Helped me !!!!
  19. sandDuneHill - it's at the very bottom - don't log it like everything else - you put in the number of oz you have. It's listed under exercises. Hope that helps!
  20. Sandunehill - best app I use is my fitness pal. You log your water in take. Best thing is you can scan the bar code on items and it automatically loads the nutrition information in and you can adjust serving sizes. Let me know if you have any questions!!
  21. Lylabelle - thanks for listing the name of the new thread so I could make the move. I am making a note to PM you weight on Monday mornings. This could be interesting. I had my surgeon pre-op yesterday and PCP today - surgery was 5/28 - so I am down 20 since 5/18 when I started my 10 days liquid diet pre-op. So far - so good!!
  22. Today was my follow up with my surgeon after 5/28/14 surgery. All thumbs up! Now I am off to stage 3 soft protein diet for the next month until I see him again. Chicken and turkey deli meat, unsweetened applesauce, soft scrambled eggs, string cheese, tuna fish, soft veggies, etc. there's a light at the end of the tunnel. The only pain I have is just lower back pain from sitting and sleeping too much. I will take that I place of anything else. I hope everyone is doing ok. Did I read something about moving to another thread?
  23. I was not one to keep my surgery a secret. I am pretty strong minded and if they don't agree with my decision - not really my problem. I seriously only have ONE person in my life that disagrees with my decision (at least she's the only one gutsy enough to voice her opinion!!) and that was one of my sisters in law. At 46 years old - I am pretty much going to do what I feel is best for me. I have always struggled with weight (she NEVER has) and believe me - I did all my homework and really prepared for this. Something this serious was not something I was going to "half-ass". I have a huge support system of family and friends - and that support system makes me more accountable cuz I want to make sure that I NEVER go back to what I was before WLS. What's sad is that I had VSG on 5/28 and she has yet to even TEXT me to see how I am doing. That says a lot to me. I may not always support HER decisions - but always kept my opinions to myself - not my place to give those opinions. At least my brother has checked in and gives me 100% support. Her loss!
  24. Ugh. Had to do it. I hadn't touched pain meds since I left the hospital on Friday but my lower back is a hurtin' so I broke down and had a dose. Feeling much better. Post op appointment with surgeon tomorrow. Can't wait to see what he says. 4oz of a liquid ("food" or water) every hour isn't too bad - it's remembering and keeping it all straight that is hard - ha ha.
