I emailed them for some samples as recommended and am just waiting to hear back from them. These are the only protein bars my NUT even remotely likes as she is not a huge advocate of them but I have some travel coming up next month so she says they are ok in a pinch. Can't wait to see how they are.

Ok, ONE MORE SUCCESS TO SHARE
jajmj replied to Stephannie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You look awesome! Congrats!! -
I was at 261.6 last Monday with. SW of 280. That was right before I passed out and broke both bones in my ankle. My RIGHT ankle. My gas pedal driving ankle. So that being. Said - not sure when I'm going to be able to get on a scale again to get a true weight since I have this ankle splinted, partially casted and wrapped to the hilt until further notice. Not to mention I would have to be able to stand ON the scale and balance. I can't see that happening for the next several weeks. I do have my follow up with my Bariatric surgeon on Wednesday so will see what he says. I found that I get nauseous if I am laying down/reclined when I eat and drink so it's been fun to keep my foot elevated while in bed while sitting up while fighting nausea. You get the picture. And the lortab for pain makes me nauseous as well so no pain meds for me for the ankle. So ask you can see - I'm on an adventure. Stay tuned cuz Friday I meet with my Orthopaedic surgeon to see what he has in store for me and for how long. Could be interesting since the first two weekends in August I am traveling. Cross your fingers for me. I hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend.

Post surgery bowel movements?

Pear Juice! Just drink it. I get it from the baby food aisle. I drank 4-8oz then if nothing - another 4 oz the next day and BAM!! -
No judgement - just MY thoughts for ME! I swore to myself that if I was ever given the opportunity to have the surgery - I would never go back to the way I was - size wise and miserable. If eating fast food was a contributor to my weight then to me it's no longer an option. It's easier for me to avoid something if I tell myself I can't have it than if I had to CHOOSE not to have it. I am not on a diet - I have chosen to live a better and healthier lifestyle.

Conflicting advice from my Pros--what's a girl to do?
jajmj replied to katesuccess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One thing I like about logging my food on myfitnesspal is that I have given my NUT access so she can review what I am eating and give me advice. So far I have been doing good but if I was having a problem - at least she can review it and give me advice!! -
Never heard that about not eating soup. Hmmmm

French onion is heaven! (Just no bread)

Remember that after surgery you are swollen then it goes away with time. Measuring and listening to you bodies is key!

4 weeks post op and have stalled.
jajmj replied to TXGALINAR's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
To get things "moving" drink pear juice (I got it from the baby food aisle). Helped one person today already! I was sleeved 5/28. Hit what I felt was a stall in lbs but my pants were getting too big. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat so if you are exercising...."...there you have it. This week alone I have lost 5 lbs. the stalls happen. Don't get discouraged and only weigh yourself once a week. We are all going through this but everyone's results will vary! -
going to the bathroom after surgery
jajmj replied to roosmommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Syntrex makes a great peanut butter cookie shake and a strawberry one. They also have one I mix with water - fuzzy navel. Otherwise I get Body fortress shakes - they have some great flavors as well. For packaged ones - Premier Protein are good - I get mine from costco. -

how soon can we do protein bars?
jajmj replied to mayonaise's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My NUT considers them candy bars on steroids so I won't eat them. She has done great by me so far so I listen to her 100%!! -
Time off work-did you need more or less
jajmj replied to mochax's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on 5/28 - 4 weeks ago today and I went back to work on June 9th. I have a desk job and even worked from home the 6/2 thru 6/6 - just got tired of sitting on my butt or in bed so I couldn't have taken more time off without the risk of losing my mind. I am one of the lucky ones whose surgery was with no problems so for that I am very thankful. Can't believe it has already been 4 weeks!! -

When can we start eating normally? Confused.
jajmj replied to ssbills's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The one word I kept reading is DIET. There is something I once heard that I can't forget. The T in diet stands for TEMPORARY. Don't consider yourself on a diet. It's a change in your life. I always told myself that if I was ever given the gift of this surgery I WOULD NEVER GO BACK!! It's got such a psychological aspect to it. All the people that are supporting me - I refuse to let them down. If that means redefining what I consider my "NORMAL" foods to eat - then I guess that's how it's going to be. I am a pretty strong headed person so I have that going for me as well. I would just hate to see us all go through this then fall off. -
