I'm scheduled for my sleeve surgery on June 4th and am looking for other June sleevers to connect with. I just joined this app yesterday, so I'm a little green. It was recommended to me by someone who had the sleeve procedure a year ago. She said connecting with other people who were having the same procedure in the same month was really helpful to her, so I'm hoping to find some other people like me who are looking for help and support as we begin our new journey. Thanks jhood! I will keep you posted and hope you will do the same. I wish I could help you out with the coaching visits, but I didn't have to do those. I had to do a 6-month supervised diet with the Dietician. I started this process July 1st of last year and have been through a lot, so I might be able to help with other aspects, such as the psych eval or pre-op class.

I completely understand where you're coming from. It sucks that you can't have a treat for your birthday, but I think the surgery will be the best birthday gift you can give yourself. The pre-op diet will definitely be a challenge for me too, but I know we both will do good. You can do it!

Thanks LovetoDive! We don't have a Costco, but we do have a Sam's Club, so I'll check there to see if they carry the Premier Protein shakes. I appreciate the feedback.

Thanks BLAKQUEEN! It's nice to meet you as well. I will definitely check out the various pre-op topics. I will start my 2 week liquid diet on Thursday this week. I think I'll do okay on the liquid diet as long as I can find some protein powders that taste good once mixed with milk or water. Have you found a brand or flavor you enjoy? I'm open for suggestions.

Hi all! My surgery is scheduled for June 4th. I'm equally excited and scared. I'm really looking forward to my new journey, but am a little concerned about some of the potential side effects, such as vomiting and hair loss. I'm ready to change my eating habits and lifestyle, but it makes me sad to think that I may never be able to eat certain foods again. Hopefully that concern will go away after my surgery. I would really miss eating steak though.

Hi! My surgery is scheduled for June 4th, so I'll be starting my pre-op protein shake diet this Thursday after my pre-op visit with my surgeon. Are you ladies feeling fairly satisfied with the restrictive diet or are you left feeling hungry a lot?

It's nice to find other Shawnee Mission Bariatric Center patients. I'm scheduled for my sleeve surgery on June 4th with Dr. Hamilton. I'm super excited, but getting more nervous every day.
