  1. I had an appointment with my surgeon yesterday and he said he thinks I may need one more. He also said after 5 dilations they would consider the stent.

    Arthritis and Fibromialgia Pain

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia and there is not much I can take either because everything has and NSAID in it. For my FM, I take Cymbolta and it does help me. For my RA I take biologics. I have been taking Tylenol for my aches and pains and I sure do understand how it doesn't work. I am a person who never relied on narcotics in the past, only IBU, but since surgery I have had to use some narcotic medications.

    Tattoos

I have a half sleeve and have lost some weight on the arms and it hasn't really affected it much, I am still in the weight loss process, though....
  4. Hi there. You know what the dr said it was and what it looked like compared to the last time do not match up, so I am not so sure. I had it last Thursday and so far I am doing pretty good. I follow up tomorrow. At any rate, there was another stricture and he did have to open it up again. That last time I was scheduled 2 weeks between the endoscopies and he didn't say anything about scheduling another one, so I guess it will just be wait and see. I am hoping I won't have to. I would love for it to just be how it is supposed to be,and it is getting pretty expensive!
  5. Sorry to hear that. I have been pretty bad off since surgery as well. My dr talked about a revision of my surgery. I am hoping it doesn't come to that.
  6. I stopped drinking coffee before surgery and had not had it until about 2 months after surgery. Now if I have a cup,it is limited to a half a cup to a cup a day.
  7. I did not have a revision, just hernia surgery and RNY,but I have had three endoscopies with dilations for strictures. I have no idea where I go from here.

    Liars!

Oh goodness what a mess. I don't know if the Vitamin issue is different for males and females. I am hoping someone will chime in with that. I cannot imagine having such a huge surgery without the surgeon and his team being part of your recovery and new life.

    Liars!

OP, I have skimmed through the posts, but my advice would be to call your surgeon and get an appointment in his office and forget about the surgical unit, etc. Does he have an office or is he just a surgeon for the hospital? I noticed you said you have Tricare, so does that mean you were at the VA or a military hospital, or was it a regular hospital?
  10. This was a great post. I will say that my 2 week pre surgical diet was nothing compared to what I've gone through after my surgery, unfortunately.
  11. Oh really? IfI have to go back in again, I am going to mention it. He is talking about a revision of the surgery, possibly, but it just seems like they should be able to place something in there to keep it from closing up all the time. It is also possible that he is not the one that would do that surgery.
  12. I feel bony in different areas too and it is so weird!
  13. I think that is normal. It is a big undertaking. I was nervous as well. You just need to make sure you go into it sure that it is what you want to do and do all of your research. I would say not to listen to people giving you info such as your friend. She is telling you what she thinks, and not what she knows. As you have questions, write them down and research them, have them with you when you see your surgeon so they can go over it with you. Good Luck!
  14. They can't. I am not a doctor so I cannot answer that for you, sorry. They can do other tests which do not involve scopes.
  15. The scope doesn't go through all off the intestines as it is, only the upper GI tract. The bottom portion of the stomach cannot be accessed, nor can the duodenum. http://s29.photobucket.com/user/x828/media/oh/rny.jpg.html
  16. That is ridiculous. Of course you can. I have had three since my RNY. I would ask them where they got their info or if they can explain why that is the case.
  17. Oh sorry to hear that! I just wish one of these times I won't have to go back again!
  18. I have heard of the three months s/p surgery hair falling out but not nine. Is that typical?
  19. It already falls out because of the chemotherapy I take, but I have been off of that since the end of June. I can only guess it is due to the surgery. I am just hoping it stops falling out at some point. With the small dose of chemo I take every week, I do have regrowth. With this, it just seems like it is falling out with now recovery! Is this going on with anyone else, or has it happened to you? Does it come back in at some point?
  20. Well I am not getting the amount of Protein in that I am supposed to, but I was told it is due to the trauma of the surgery. I have an appointment to get a haircut on Tuesday. Hopefully a little shorter of a cut will make it look better. My sweetie won't like it but you gotta do what ya gotta do!
  21. I had a big issue with this because of the terribly bitter taste. I never found anything that masked the taste. As far as applesauce, you can buy unsweetened if you choose to go that route.
  22. The BMI for my age/female is 32 and I am overweight and not obese anymore! I was looking at a chart that was for everyone and not only female and it still listed me as obese for two more points..... I think I will go with the female chart! Overweight! Funny to be happy to be overweight!
  23. When your thighs don't rub together when you walk!!!! WOOTWOOTWOOT! I noticed that today and I was like...there is something wrong with my legs. I had to laugh when I realized it was just that my legs weren't rubbing together like they usually do. I don't mind having that wrong with me! =)
  24. Oh your date is coming right up!!! Good luck with your surgery!!! =)
