How about your jewelry (rings) after surgery?
pik replied to pik's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is what I got for right now. It cost me $3.00. I had to cut it down to fit in my ring because of the speed bumps in the ring. http://www.amazon.com/Snuggies-Sizer-Assorted-Sizes-Adjuster/dp/B00668J39Y/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1407977290&sr=8-5&keywords=ring+sizer+insert -
LOL! One can only hope! I thought it was the weirdest thing, I didn't know other peoples were like that as well. It used to feel really tight but now not as much. I am at 4 weeks today. You know since the surgery and my losing weight I can actually feel muscle under there! WHAT!!!

white eyebrows after surgery

I haven't noticed that on myself but I suppose it could be due to the trauma placed on your body with the surgery. -
Oh wow. I am worried about the skin issue but this surgery (RNY) was really rough on me and I don't know if I could handle another surgery!
-
I think all of mine were like that, If I am understanding what you are saying. Of course I am the dork sitting here lifting up my shirt and looking at them all. The incision you are talking about for me made an indention and made it look like I had rolls of fat where it wasn't like that before. The others just didn't seem like each side of the incision were level and look much better now that the glue has fallen off.

I have the same problem too. Except for when I am hospitalized. There I am so filled up with fluids I have the opposite affect. It has got to be the lack of Fluid. I am having a real hard time with it. Went today after five days of not going. I'll mention it to the surgeon tomorrow.

I went to my jeweler today and I could get a guard but they also mentioned these little rubber/plastic things that go around your ring. I found a package of them and they work out pretty well. I just have to cut them almost in half for it to fit because of the speed bumps. So hopefully this will solve my problem for now! -
I used to,and I am not sure how long to wait before going back post surgery.Does anyone have any exp with this?
-
Well I went today. All I wanted to have done is some acupressure on my sinuses. They are starting to fill up and soon I will have an infection. He did my neck also, but nothing else. I see my surgeon tomorrow and I will ask him.
-
I certainly understand that because my rheumatologist is 3 hours away and I have to see her quite often. I do think they may have more experience in what to say to the insurance company as far as getting you approved.
-
I think with that said, you should probably go back and see your surgeon.
-
I wish I had thought of that. I wasn't even thinking of that. I was still trying to decide if I wanted the surgery for a long time. I knew I had to have my hernia surgery and they basically told me if I ever wanted WLS that this was the time to do it as it would be too difficult later.

I would like to go to a support group but i live in Woodbridge and it doesn't make a lot of sense to go all the way out to Fair Oaks. I had my surgery there because my fiance doesn't much like the hospital here. Do you know what time it is, just in case?

That's right you will be! You know that's funny. We went on a cruise the beginning of May and I told him he may as well ask me before the cruise or all of the old men on the cruise were gonna try and pick me up! -
Yes, my surgery was there on July 16th.
-
Is your surgery going to be at Fair Oaks?
-
Well that's a good thing! I had the feeling that he felt like I was a drug abuser and I am far from it. I will say that I was in a huge amount of pain though.
-
Don't be surprised if you go home with more weight than you went in with. I was ten pounds heavier when I left. That is how much Fluid they pumped into me! Onlytook a few days to come off and then I started losing weight.
-
I had the same thing. First I had the "my body is ripping apart" pain, and that graduated to the burning pain. In my bottom left incision area, basically all of the area surrounding it.
-
I had a Joy,a Nicole, and a Jon. Jon is who told me to cycle through.

Familiar words some of us can relate to- from Robin Williams RIP :(

You know I was talking to my fiance about this last night. I have never thought I had a food addiction, and he agreed with that. He says he has it, and that is his problem. He is losing weight, though, and that is good. He got under 300 yesterday and I know that was very exciting for him. I hear people talking about transfer addictions and I don't think that really concerns me. As for Robin Williams, such a sad thing that he felt that was all he could do. Can you imagine how many people there are out there smiling on the outside and just dying on the inside? I can imagine there could be some like that here. May he RIP. -

I wish I was closer, I need one too! -
You know my dr never did either. I came in for an issue after surgery and another of the drs examined my abdomen. I guess the first time my actual dr saw me was at my surgery time.
-
Does your husband have the same issues with him?
-
Is he alone or in a group? I started out with one and got a second opinion from another in his group and I was very happy with my decision. I actually had surgeon 1 take care of me in my first hospital trip after the surgery and another the second one.
