    starbucks question

I tried to drink a decaf (which I usually like just fine) yesterday and it was so bad. I couldn't even drink it. I have to wonder if I just don't drink coffee anymore! That would suck because I have a million K cups!
  3. I think everything I used to drink had 5 billion sugars. There is no way I could drink it right now, or I would be too afraid to, anyway.
  4. i have heard it happens around 3-4 months out.
  5. Well luckily I don't like PSL. Unluckily, I also don't like the Protein drinks either!

    Sleep Apnea?

No, you should not have to wait longer.

    Sleep Apnea?

It should not mean that you cannot have the surgery or would have to wait longer. If you have it, they will want you to bring your CPAP with you to the hospital. It may also help your case for surgery because it would be considered a co-morbidity.

    Back in Hospital

Oh I am so sorry! My dr was talking about giving me one so I could go home and be able to have fluids overnight at home...
  9. You are looking great! the only stats I have are on my ticker. I wish I would have taken a picture before I left the hospital! Well maybe not. I looked rough!

    So sick...

I do. Absolutely. I am 7 weeks out and it has only been very recently that I am feeling better. I have had extreme nausea the whole time and was hospitalized 2x since my surgery. I have been having the same issues, and thing were getting stuck and feeling tight. I kept asking about having an endoscopy and if I had a stricture. It was always no and no. I had an endoscopy last Monday and had a stricture. They opened it up and I will have to have it done 1-2 more times (probably.) After I recovered from the endoscopy I started feeling better overall. I am beginning to feel like it is tight again, so I am not letting them make me wait til I am half dead to do anything about it. Make sure to be in touch with your dietitian. Mine has worked diligently with me to help me in the path of getting well. Good luck. I regretted it to but am coming around.
  11. My stay was not so nice, and that was due to the girl in the other bed next to me and a nurse named John who insisted I need to cycle through my pain and nausea.
  12. Walking around on the legs of your pjs because they are too loose.
  13. I saw one of the surgeons in the group this past Friday and he scheduled me for endoscopy tomorrow. I've been having many problems with my hernia repair. He thinks maybe there is a kink in the esophagus or things are too tight. I have had chronic nausea since the surgery. I can hardly eat or drink and am not doing well. He told me he may have to admit me and place an iv for me to be able to go home with and get fluids overnight. He said they could possibly have to go back in and redo the surgery and I may possibly need a feeding tube placed in my stomach. None of this sounds good to me. I just hope things are too tight in there and he can loosen them up. I am hoping for the bast but knowing there can be a worst.
  14. It really does. I think I had that stricture from one week out and they wouldn't do anything. Something got stuck again last night so I am sure I have to go back. They felt like I may have to go 1-2 more times. Thank you very much, and to you as well!!!

    Gained 1 pound

I gained 2 lbs since yesterday. I go up and down, up and down. I am really in a stall right now but that is ok, I am trying to get better from a rough recovery. I would rather feel better than worry about the weight right now.
  16. Your cell phone keeps making your shorts fall down!
  17. I had mine at Fair Oaks and used BluePoint, Dr. Halmi...

    Popcorn? Okay or Not?

I haven't eaten microwave popcorn in years. You are so right about what is in that bag! Yuck!

    Popcorn? Okay or Not?

I think it is ok for me 6-9 months out, but I am only just under 7 weeks.

    Popcorn? Okay or Not?

I was talking about popcorn today. I only ate it once about every 3 months or so before the surgery, and I have had a craving for it here lately. I was pretty sure it was one of the things listed as not to eat, along with seeds and nuts, which I also like!

    Phantom Pain

Is your pancreatitis chronic? I had it too. I was sick a week after surgery and then another week later. I got my medicine stuck and ended up admitted both times, also with pancreatitis. Worse the second time.

    Post op pain

For me, it was normal. Not fun, but it was my normal.
  23. My surgery was on Wednesday 7-16 and my fiance was with me all day. I was discharged that Friday, and he was off for me that day as well. Then there was the weekend, so he was off. It was very helpful to have him with me because I was in quite a bit of pain. I also had a medicine ball and he was the one who changed my bandages every night after I took a shower. I was pretty weak after the surgery. None of us knows how it is going to be after surgery, we are all different. If it were me, I would want someone for a couple of days in the beginning...
  24. I am getting married next fall as well. I think you will most likely be feeling fine by November, even if you have your surgery half way through next year. Many of the people here do well right out of surgery, and some of us have had difficulties. For the most part, my difficulties wrapped up at 6 weeks, and I am feeling better every day. Thank God. I think you will have plenty of time to recover, and congrats on your engagement and upcoming wedding!
