I am sure this has been discussed here some where but I can't find it. What are the nutritional goals once you reach the soft food stage? How many calories, how many carbs, how much Protein, etc. I would appreciate any help you can give

Nutritional Goals
StrawberryPolly replied to StrawberryPolly's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I really like MFP and I use the Iphone app MOVES to track my walking. I have been stuck at -27 lbs for over a week and that is frustrating. -
Nutritional Goals
StrawberryPolly replied to StrawberryPolly's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks!! That is what I wanted. I have joined MyFitnessPal to keep track of food and exercise and they automatically put my calorie and carb intake way to high. -
Will i enjoy food again?
StrawberryPolly replied to teshadb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 weeks out and wonder the same thing. I have friends who have been sleeved and they say yes. I still don't understand how you can eat a "meal" when you can only hold 4 oz. -
I'm in also. Will weigh in next Friday

HELP! Im 13 days post op and maybe taking in too many fluids
StrawberryPolly replied to mizz_sleeved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was to take in AT LEAST 64 oz of Fluid a day....could be Water, Crystal Light, soup, popsicles, Powerade Zero... BUT...1 sip at a time. No gulping or chug a lugging but sipping on liquids all day long. -
My surgery was May 5th. I was on Clear liquids for a week post-op and now am on full liquids for 4 weeks until June 9th. All doctors are different. I can't have anything even close to a solid. My creamed soups have to be liquefied and mixed with skim milk. I can have CarbMaster Yogurt and that is as "solid" as I can have.
-
I am curious about that also. I thought I might try really thinned oatmeal when I go to Breakfast with my Water aerobics class. I will be 4 weeks out and not yet graduated from the full liquids stage.

When did you start exercising? Post Op one week today
StrawberryPolly replied to LookatmeNow34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't been released to go back to Water aerobics yet...Doc said 4 weeks after surgery. I am walking about 2 miles a day now...not all at once but I am getting there. It is getting too hot to walk in Mississippi so I may use the elliptical at the gym soon. I am going to start weight as soon as Doc says it is okay. -
Where my May 5th Sleevers at? Chime in please! One Week!
StrawberryPolly replied to Comeflywithme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Every doctor is different but mine told me not to count anything except Water. 64 oz a day, a sip at a time...no gulping. I could drink the Protein drink or I didn't have to. I drink Powerade Zero, Crystal Light, V-8 juice. I have creamed Soups diluted with skim milk, pureed and strained. NO chunks. I eat sf pudding and CarbMaster Yogurt (Kroger). This is my diet from May 12 until June 9. I take 8 pills a day for numerous problems. I have to crush the pills and I have to take them 10 minutes apart. It is frustrating but I do it. Make sure you are walking at least 30 minutes a day....it doesn't have to be all at once. 5 minutes here, 10,minutes there. Build yourself you...so a bit farther and walk longer every day. I use the Free app MOVE on my Iphone and it has been a great help I was advised that GasX strips were good for stomach upset. I am have been so blessed....I haven't had that problem. I hope this has been some help. I am by no means and expert or a doctor... -
Should I be disappointed?
StrawberryPolly replied to artisticbritt77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you are getting more carbs than Protein...that could be a problem. I have been there about dreading what the doctor might say. But I am going to urge you to put your pride on the back burner and get a professional opinion. Start a food journal so you can show the doctor what you have been eating. I hope you will do the journal for a week and then check back in here. I don't know if I can help but I will certainly try. -

Have you checked with your doctor? I am really new at this (sleeved May 5) but I have dieted all my life. Take a really good look at what you are eating....are you consuming too many carbs, too much salt, too many calories? Write everything down. Some times we don't realize what we are eating and drinking. -
I know that fire burning feeling. It was awful the first 10 days. I also wanted to chug a lug the Water but DON"T!! You have got to sip it and don't use a straw. Have you tried GasX strips? You can't take pills but this dissolves in your mouth.

Whats The Best Cream Soup With Most Nutrients
StrawberryPolly replied to 1Bumblebee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told I could have creamed soups but NO chunks. This is for weeks 2-6 weeks post op. Condensed Creamed soups soup be made with skim milk. I love Split Pea Soup so I put the light or Healthy Choice...liquefy in a blender...add a half can of skim milk... blend it some more the I strain it. There isn't much flavor in cream of chicken soups or potato soup in my opinion. I have tried liquefying other soup and diluting them with water, but nothing is as good or as satisfying as my split pea soup -
How Much Protein?
StrawberryPolly replied to shelly77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, I know every doctor is different but after some research, I am a little concerned. For the week after surgery, I was on Clear liquids, then I was put on full liquids for 4 weeks. I was told: creamed Soups, sf pudding, CarbMaster yogurt, Protein drink (AdvantEdge (17 grams protein) and to continue with clear liquids. No mention of how much protein. It seems like everyone else is worried about getting enough protein and have started consuming protein almost immediately after surgery. I would appreciate some opinions on this. Also, I have been stuck at minus 2 lbs for almost a week now. -
HI, I had my sleeve done on May 5th in Oxford Mississippi by Dr. Bath. It is a 2 hour journey from Rienzi Mississippi but Dr. Bath is worth the trip. Anyone else from the Great State of Miss-I-sip?

Mississippi Gastric Sleevers?
StrawberryPolly replied to StrawberryPolly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am doing well. I am a68 years old breast cancer survivor9 Double mastectomy October 2011) Chemo and radiation left me with osteopenia and the cancer pill was making it impossible to loose weight. My bones were really starting to hurt and I couldn't do any weight bearing exercise to strengthen them because my bones were having a hard time just bearing my body weight. Minus 26 lbs late, my walking has REALLY improved and I am feeling great. So very tired of this full liquid diet and am looking forward to the next stage. How about you? Looks like you are doing great!! -

Anyone have the sleeve surgery around may 7 2014?
StrawberryPolly replied to lizzyloo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Gee, I am a tad jealous. 1 week after surgery, my doctor graduated me from clear liquids to full liquids for a month. I won't get pureed foods until June 9th!!!! -

Hello Fellow May 5th Sleevers. Just found this little group and am glad to be able to compare my progress with all of you. I had my surgery in the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford Mississippi. I am 68 years old, an Inflammatory Breast Cancer Survivor and am benefiting already from my sleeve!!! I am down 26 lbs since the pre-op diet and have found that the bone pain in my legs from chemo, radiation and steroids is fading fast!!! I couldn't walk 10 feet without pain. This morning...in 2 separate tries, I walked a mile!!! Yeah ME!!! Hoping to get rid of some of these meds I have taken for years and also put my CPAP machine in the closet! -

Anyone have the sleeve surgery around may 7 2014?
StrawberryPolly replied to lizzyloo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Don't be worried. Follow the doctor's orders and you will be fine. Everyone looses at their own pace. Get out there and walk. I downloaded the app Map My Steps to my phone and carry it with me. Every day I try to walk further and a little faster. Some days I don't achieve my goal but I keep trying. And so should you! Have confidence in yourself. The weight WILL come off!!! Always remember this sleeve is a tool not a miracle cure. You are going to do this!!!! -
Need help finding protein shakes/powder! Recommendations?
StrawberryPolly replied to MorganO87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor recommended AdvantEdge. The chocolate fudge tastes like melted Fudgesicles and I have no problem with it. Pre and Post Op. You can buy it at WalMart -
