Is this normal? Happened to anyone else??

well you're too tight. I had the surgery and the same thing happened to me. The band had slipped from me puking so much. But the stuff that comes up in the night is'nt anything but spit that your band wouldnt let through. it urns black. Anyways all they did was loosen my mom from 3.8 to 3.4 and she gained no weight and she stopped getting up in the night. But with me I was in the hospital from dehydration, I had'nt eaten or drank anything without puking it up for 6 days. I went into the hospital knowing I'd have to have surgery and they replaced my band. Now, a month and a half later, I feel good again and I'm about to get my "first fill" (I've had about 15 fills/unfills with my old band) soon and I gained 20 lbs from going from eating nothing to eating again so I'm excited to get filled. But I think your band slipped, or you're too tight, thats all I can think of. Hope it helps =]

    first fill

first the doctor gives you a shot to numb you where your port is. then they find the port and get a hold of it, it feels like pressure because they are holding your port still so he can stick the tool (like a needle) in that allows them to put in liquid and take out liquid. they put the tool in you and then they put in the fill and they sit you up and you take a sip or two of water to make sure it goes down then you're done. they take the tool out and put a bandaid over where they put the tool in and you're done. it take about 5 minutes, literally. the numbing stuff hurts a little but it only stings for a second then goes away. your port will be a little sore but it goes away in a day or so. liquids 24 hours, soft foods 24 after that then you can eat =]

"I can't believe I ate the whole thing"

The only tip I can give you is do not binge and think you can throw it up later. I did that and I've been loosened completly 3 times and now I am at the point where my mom wants to take the band out because I can barley drink any water and I'm on the verge of collapsing every week and I miss school. so DO NOT BINGE!!!! Eat slowly what you want (besides bread, pasta and rice) and don't throw up and try to go back to eating more of what you just threw up. DO NOT BINGE, its not worth it. It damages thinks and I had to learn the hard way. Thats my tip

    Gaining Weight Every Day!!!

I lost 29 pounds my first two weeks then gain back 12 as soon as I started to eat anything. Don't worry after you get tightened the weight pretty much melts off, or it at least does for me
