Will insurance pay for protein drinks?
Crosby replied to GADeltaDawn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
But the key is do they know that Premeir changed and is a concentrate now? I am hearing many NUTS saying they are fine without the updated info. -
If you directly to their site you can order one serving samples. I have ordered samples from three different places now.
-
I would. I know a lot are upset and refuse to change. Many NUTS are not aware Premeir changed its formula and are still recommending it. It was not even worth the slightest risk to me so I am with Unjury right now but trying samples of thing. Frankly taste wise I am not too picky.

Some more insurance questions

Just be honest...it will be much easier to remember. I told them my drinking is totally based on seasons which is true. Fall and Winter maybe one or two the whole two seasons. Spring..maybe one or two. Summer..weekly...margarita queen! -

Waving hand....me. -
I just want to mention that Premeir changed its formula to a Protein concentrate in the fall. This does not work for us. I use unjury. It's not like a milkshake but does the job.

Conquering day five. Scared to jinx myself but so far getting everything in has been easier than I thought. I like having a good variety so water is number one but decaf tea, chicken broth, watered down grape juice, are all good so far. Got to have my protein shake yesterday and both the chocolate and vanilla were fine. Took about 4 hours to get it down. And jello is part of " breakfast" but never really been a fan. Pop cycles once a day for a treat have been perfect. Pain is decreasing no pain pills during day but I am taking them at night to help sleep. I had my first decent sleep last night and it was wonderful. It is still tough walking though. I had to go outside in very slushy snow to take care of our chickens and it was slow going. My cold is at the end but still a little little cough. Gas pains have been minimal and even in the hospital I only had two bad episodes of them. Incisions are all healing well. I feel tired and luckily have little I have to do. I fixed one of the frozen dinners I had pre made for family last night. The meatloaf smelled very strong. ( I am so glad I made up probably 12 meals. ) I had my first poop today and oh my...I was really surprised how much there was and that I didn't have any constipation. And my arthritis pain is nearly non existent. I have lived on NSAIDs for four years so this is quite shocking. I go tomorrow for my first follow up. It is about a 20 mile drive which I am not looking forward too.

Stalls will happen. Just stay on the recommended dietary amounts and you all will be fine.

Crosby replied to goodnuff's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well that certainly is good enough . Congrats on your early success and upcoming surgery. I am only 5 days out and having a good time of it. -

Surgery on Wed., March 4 and feeling sick (fever)
Crosby replied to Ladiec2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a bad cold but no fever when I had surgery last week. They won't do it with a fever. You don't want surgery with a fever as you risk infection. Even with a simple cold I was much more uncomfortable than normal. (coughing was and still is horrendous.) I'd call them. I called mine four days ahead when I came down sick. -
Wish you the best tommorrow. I just had mine Friday and getting along well.

Wishing you the best with the situation. -
I think it is hard to compare or even go crazy trying to obtain some number. Botttom line if I stay on track I will lose. I was surprised when I got home and found I had not gained or still retained weight gain fron surgery. I only lost 13 net pre surgery.
-
That's exactly how I feel. Ihope everyone keeps posting as we progress.
-
Well I made it through and came home today. Having the cold and a bad cough probably made everything twice as bad...especially with sleeping. I am just starting to feel clear enough to post. Still pain is terrible when I cough. At least I know it's only going to get better.
-
Well I am off...see ya on the losers bench.
-
That's great Tiffany!

I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow and quit all caffeine 10 days ago..as well as all sugar. No way did I want to go through withdrawal while recuperating from the surgery. It was not required as my Pre-op diet just started today.
-
Great weigh ins gals. Cold is better and cough is much better but now I think I am in a sneezeathon! I called in and got my surgery time...10 am tomorrow!
-
Surgery time confirmed. 10am tomorrow!
-
Man...you look better than fantastic. I am so excited to get the ball rolling with surgery tomorrow.

Am I the last Feburary person? Tomorrow is the day. Only a one day liquid diet..but even with that I was allowed to have breakfast. Cold is still hanging on but nurse at hospital wasn't concerned either. I call today to get my surgery time. It's going to be so much fun coughing and sneezing after surgery. But I never do things the easy way.
