Wow that person unknown has described my own realisations!!
-
Liz I am glad you have sorted that out and that you will get a slight unfill. I actually did the same yesterday as for some time now I have had several days where nothing much stays down at the evening meal. I decided to take my advice to you andf go see my doctor. She removed 0,4 of a millilitre of saline and thinks that should do the trick. All the very best

Scheduled for a fill tomorrow
Hilary replied to vsnowrn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your story sounds like mine back in the early days of my banding. I went back for my 6 week visit and did not need any fill. However a month later I had another visit with the specialist and then had three more over the following months. I now think I have good restriction again and rarely feel hungry. All the best -
Liz I do not live in the States so I don't know your medical system, but noticed no body has replied to your post. I think you need to go to see your general practioner doctor at the very least so he/she can help advise where to go from here. It sounds to me like you really need to see somebody quickly as that type of reaction is definitely not right. I do hope you can see someone very soon.

JaNuArY 08 Bandsters.... howzit?
Hilary replied to thinner-or-bust's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Jess, I reckon you have done just great girl!! All those kilos - you must be feeling great about yourself for that achievement. I was banded just a few days before you on 10th January and I have lost just 14 kg but feel terrific, especially since I have now cracked the 100 kg point offically as I weighed at my specialists and registered at 99.2 kg!! Yay!! I have to say I feel 100% better in myself and I am loving the need to buy new clothes all the time!! Keep going and let us all hear your progress. from another January 08 Bandster -
Finally after plateauing for a long time, I have lost nearly 5lbs. What have I done differently? Well I listened to the psych finally. I stopped weighing myself altogether, and stopped getting weighed and measured at the gym too. His concern was that the small difference I would see from weighing daily, or even weekly could have a detrimental effect how I eat if it doesn't look good. I only weighed at the dietitian's and when I went for my last check up and fill at the specialist's rooms on Thursday. Anyway they are both pleased with my progress and say I am right on track with the weight loss progress. I have also increased my sessions at the gym to compensate for not being able to walk far because of a problem with my ankle and that too seems to have worked in my favour. In all the time that I was plateauing, though, I was getting smaller and everyone was making favourable comments. I could see it in the clothes I was wearing too and that there were less bulges poking out everywhere. I have gone down from a size 20 (Australian sizing) to an 18, and can fit in some size 16 long pants and tops. For the first time in MANY years I have bought clothes in 'normal' shops as opposed to 'fat girl' shops, and am buying 'Large' as opposed to 'extra large' or even 2XL. I do feel good and love being banded. It is definitely working.

You have done so well. Congratulations! Doesn't it feel so good to feel that you are a loser (of weight) but a winner in the health stakes!! My loss has been slow, but I had more fill the other day and finally had come down nearly 5lbs so was able to finally change my ticker!! Yeah!!

Jen so glad you are back home and at least doing well with the band even if the rest of you is a bit challenged. We have missed you and waiting to hear good news for you. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
-
Thanks for passing on that info. I think many of us have been wondering how Jen is doing.
-
Well I was banded on 10th January and like Brez I have to wait till 10th April to get my first fill. Doc was pleased with my progress but said if I was eating recommended quantities and not feeling hunger then he would leave the fill till next time.
-
Thanks for that news Jessica. Please pass on my best wishes too when you see or talk to her.
-
Jen hope you can read this really soon and my best wishes, thoughts and prayers are coming your way.

Crystal you will be fine. I was a bit happy scared like you and the worst part was probably waiting to go down to theatre when the tv had cooking shows on and the magazines I had bought to read had far too ,many food items on but I did make it through!! All the very best. You have been a tower of strength and encouragement for everyone this month with your official good luck thread, and I am sending a huge portion of the same over to you from Oz along with a huge Aussie hug!!

Just wondering if there are any others from Adelaide and whether you go to any get togethers? I would love to meet some other locals who have been banded:smile:

:cool2:Thanks. I have sent you a pm.

Put your lunch in a lunch box with your name on it and mark it: Keep out please!! I'll discard when necessary!! -
Hi I had my surgery on the 10th and am on a liquid diet for another three weeks. I will go back to work on Thursday ( I am a teacher, and we have had five weeks holidays, so that is the normal day for us all to return to work here). I am still achy on my port side whenever I try to lie down turn iover in bed or get into my car. I tried to stop the pain meds for a few nights, but last nght I decided I still need them and slept really well. Still getting shoulder ache from time to time and very bloated.

Congratulations Saleel. Hope you are starting to feel more alive now. Don;t be in too much of a hurry to get oiut and about - I spent most of Tuesday out and really paid for it yesterday. However I am feeling hugely more lively since I stopped taking the painkillers too. I found they really cloud my memory!! Keep sipping. I am making carrot and coriander Soup tonight as I finished my first huge pot I made yesterday.

January Group Name-- Time To Vote!
Hilary replied to CallMeJim's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Go to the January 08 Bandsters either at bottom or top of this or any page - looks like this in a blue box Lap Band Talk Forum - The largest forum for Lap Band Surgery Discussion and Lap Band Surgery Support > Lap-band Support Groups > Monthly Lap-band Support Groups > 2008 Bandsters > January 08 Bandsters Click on January 08 Bandsters and then scroll to top of page. Look on left side just above the titles of each thread and you will see a blue button titled "new thread' which you click on and it allows you to type a title, your message and then submit it (via another butter similar to one below). Good luck!!! -
Glad to hear you are home and hope you start to feel more comfortable very soon. Today was my first whole day out to the kids playground at St Kilda (SA) and then to Tea Tree Plaza shops to buy a house warming present for my friend and her partner. Going to the house warming tonight. Take care, rest up and keep sipping. I now feel nearly totally human!!

Wow that is fantastic news for you gingydilly. I seemed to have gained about a pound since surgery but am not too worried as I am sure it will move down again soon. Started walking again yesterday so that should see a change.
-
Yes all the very best to all of you!!

That is not good tuszak. Hope today sees an improvement. I am still experiencing shoulder pain and find the heat pad works really well for that, but apart from that not much pain. If I start to feel achy in my left side I go and lie down for half an hour which seems to calm things. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.
