Need help with food ideas
NotWishWhen512 replied to Account deleted's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
These are all fantastic ideas! I'm only 4 days post-op but i've copied this to have on hand when I get to purees. Thank you -
I am just 3 days post-op and I can honestly say that I was freaking out until the very last minute. This surgery is major, and it's scary. Even now I think: WHAT DID I DO? But then I remind myself of what this is going to do for my life. How I'll be so much healthier and happier. Don't be too hard on yourself.

How is everyone doing?? I was sleeved on tuesday and came home last night. Trying to sip as much as I can and get some liquid protein in. Just wanted to check in and see how all my week-mates were doing! -
How many ounces of water/protein...

Grams of protein is what I meant. Sorry. -

Were you getting in during thise first days out of surgery? I know everyone is different, but I have a hard time with "just do what you can" mentality. I'm 3 days post-op and as of 1:00 pm I've had 15oz of water and 8oz of protein. Does that seem like the norm? Thank you! -

Hi! Had mu surgery yesterday morning and all is well! Pain is manageable, but like others have said, the gas pains/nausea is the harder part. All in all, it's not as bad as I anticipated. I'll be starting liquids as soon as the sleeve test results coming through.? -

I'm October 7th as well! I'm super nervous about surgery/getting put under/recovery. I just want that part over so I can start my new life! Best of luck to you all! -
For me, the hardest was 1-3 days. By yesterday, I felt like I got bearings and today I feel less hungry ALL the time. It's by no means enjoyable at this point, but it's more managable. I just keep thinking that every day down, is another closer to it being over.

I'm October 7th! Had all my pre-op testing done today. On day 4 of my all liquid diet. One more appointment with the surgeon next week! I'm excited, but have my moments of extreme nervousness. Look forward to following you all on your journey!

Well, I guess this is going to be my gastric sleeve story.

You look fantastic, but more importantly, you sound SO happy (and are clearly the healthiest you've been.) For us newbies, it can be so very scary as we prepare for surgery. We read so many scary stories, and people saying they wish they never did it. While they are many more stories of success, its tempered by the unpleasant stories. Your story is just such an inspiration and I'm so very happy for you. Thank you for sharing -
Comparison: Alexian Brothers / Kane Center and University of Illinois Chicago
NotWishWhen512 replied to almosthome's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I'm so happy to find this. (This is my first post and was coming to ask about Alexian Brothers/Kane Center.) I was considering Northwestern or UIC, but I really liked the "smallness" and intimacy of Kane Center. The staff seems very friendly so far. After researching, I found they have a solid reputation. I was coming to the forums to see if others had have their sleeve done with them and their experiences. I'm meeting with Dr. Kane next week.
