About Me

I have been considering weight loss surgery for many years. My daughter had gastric bypass over 10 years ago. Initially lost 250 lbs. I was encouraged by this. Unfortunately she has had serious iron deficiency. She has had IV treatments that initially caused anaphalatic reactions. They finally developed a serum she can handle. Unfortunately she has put weight back on. My guess is that she has gained 150 lbs. She is seriously fatigued all the time. Only has a couple of good hours a day. I am really concerned about her life expectancy and health. I am a 66 year old mom and grandmother. I live with my daughter to help care for her and her 14 y.o. autistic child. I weighed in at 274 lbs. and 5 7 1/2" tall. I have serious and painful osteo arthritis, along with diabetes II, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and bilateral neuropathy. I find exercise painful and difficult. I am leaning toward sleeve because of celebrex I take. My concern is will I loose enough and will I be able to be more active and able to do more exercise. I originally was going for bypass but that means I will not be able to take certain meds. I am torn. I want to choose right. In the recent past I did weight watchers and lost 10 lbs. I was thrilled. But the weight just stopped coming off probably because I couldn't exercise. I am afraid the same thing will happen with the sleeve. I am hoping with weight loss the pain will improve, therefore I will be able to exercise. Please help me make an informed decision. I need to get stronger and healthier for my family.
