Hello, I have begun the process for Gastric Sleeve surgery with Kaiser Permanente in So. Ca. I've attended my group information session and will start the Options classes for 12 weeks in July. I'm wondering if any of you have used Kaiser and what your experience was. Especially the timeline. Looking forward to hearing about your experience.

Hello..... I received a call from Kaiser today informing me I now have an appt to meet with Dr. Chin next week to discuss Gastric Sleeve surgery. Have any of you had him for your surgeon? Thanks!

I received my bottle of just take one a day vitamins especially formulated for bariatric patients.... I was so happy until I saw how BIG the vitamin is...... About the size of my husbands economy car! ????

Thanks for the reply

Kaiser lets me take either the Nature Made multi along with calcium and B complex and B12. I could not tolerate the Bariatric vitamins to big and the fruity taste made me gag. P.S. I have been very strict with myself taking the vitamins and I have never felt better.

Thank you! The weird thing is my body is changing. My clothes are to big in the waist and legs. How can this be when I'm not losing?

Hello everyone . I had the sleeve in Dec. 2014. I have been losing steadily with good progress until lately. I am stuck at 133.5 lbs. I have been at this weight for three weeks. I've lowered my calorie intake. I intensified my workouts, added three weight lifting classes per week. And the scale isn't moving! My protein intake is where it should be. Has anyone experienced this? If yes, how did you break out of this platou? I'm so frustrated. Thanks in advance for your replies. Susan

Thank you for the encouraging words. It's a relief to know that I'm not the only one to experience this. How did 12 lbs come off in one week????? That's amazing!

Thank you. I am trying to stay at 1200 calories a day. I have never been stuck like this and it's driving me nuts!

I had a horrible time with that for weeks after my surgery. It finally stopped on its own. Try not to let your self get dehydrated. It's tough but hang in there. -
It took me about three weeks. Going back to work helped a lot. The more I moved the better I felt.

Today is my last Kaiser Options Class
Susan909 replied to Dualstarr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I do attend a monthly support group and its interesting. I enjoy going and talking to the others. Some are only a few mos out like me others a year or more. I had a hard time right after surgery getting in protein and even water. It lasted about two weeks then it all became easier. I'm going great now. I've lost 39 lbs so far. I'm hardly ever hungry. I rely on the protein drinks as my stomach gets upset easily with food. That has gotten somewhat better but there are many things I can't tolerate. I asked my surgeon if I could delay my surgery for a few months but he said NO. I had to go with Kaisers schedule. I don't regret it now. I'm glad it's behind me. This surgery is life changing, in a good way. -
I had a lot of regrets after surgery too. now that Im three months out I no longer feel that way. it was very hard at first but it does get better. I promise it does. Hang in there and try to remember this pain is temporary. I attend a monthly support group that helps a lot . it helps to talk to other people going thru the same thing. its also good to talk to the ones who are a year or more out. I encourage you to see if there is a group you could attend. mine is thru my insurance company.

I had my surgery about 8 weeks after classes ended. It all went rather quickly. They told us at the last class to expect 4-6 month wait.
