Pre-Op Whey Protein Isolate / shakes?
Susan909 replied to nprcowboy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unjury is hospital grade whey isolate. I've had the chocolate and vanilla they are both delicious. They sell by the tub or a sample pack. My sample pack came with a thermometer and a shaker bottle. I didn't know that heating any protein over 130 degrees changes the consistency and compromises the purity of protein. They educate the patient not just sell a product. Unjury.com -
I tried the fuzzy navel and kiwi strawberry. I liked the fuzzy navel with the recommended amount of water . I had to really water down the strawberry kiwi, it was a bit strong with an after taste. Tomorrow I'm trying the cherry flavor.

Premiere is a blend not pure whey isolate. I like Syntrax nectar. You can order a sample pack and receive several different flavors.

I'm so glad for you that you're feeling somewhat better. Are you home yet? Hopefully the pain is tolerable. Keeping you in my prayers for a speedy recovery.
-
Hope you feel better soon. Rest and heal.

You'll be in my prayers! Let us know how you're doing plz.

I'm having a hard time getting it off... I exercise my booty off but it's slowwwww going. I'm down about 11 of the 18 I need to lose.
-
I've heard really good things about Dr. Suh. Did you have to lose 10% before surgery? You are so lucky not to have to do an extended liquid diet before.
-
That's fantastic! Which hospital, what surgeon? I'm so excited for you! What pre op preparation do you have to do? So many questions lol.
-
Sounds like you had really good options classes mine our not good at all. The RD talks about herself nearly the whole time. I don't like sounding so negative but it's not what I had expected at all. I'm hoping that getting my labs done so early will help speed the process up at the end. I don't think they do labs twice but I'm not certain. Why do you have to wait 6 mos after having the Lap Band removed? Is it to let the stomach heal?

I am so excited for you! I hope you share the details of your pre op visit.... Ie: pre diet and whatever else they tell you lol...... Last week at my options class they handed me a letter and it was instructing me to get a bunch of labs done. I was shocked and it felt like Wow this is really going to happen! The NUT also mentioned the faster you get them done the better for us cuz it shows "them" you are serious. I fasted that night and got them done the next day. Even tho I've only lost 12 lbs of the 18 I need to lose my blood sugar is in the normal range now. I can't wait to hear about your pre op

A LOVE LETTER to MYSELF the night before Vertical Sleeve Surgery
Susan909 replied to cindyvirden.com's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
GREAT video! You're awesome! -
Your Dr can give you a nasal spray that works really well in stopping PND.
-
That's great you got an appointment! How long ago did you start the whole process? What hospital will you have your surgery at? I finished my third class last night at Kaiser Corona. I have to say the classes have been a big disappointment. But I have to do them. I am so excited for you and that your journey is almost at an end.

Weight Loss Surgery and Health Insurance: Shouldn't They Go Together?
Susan909 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Contacting your local represenitive really does help. Keep contacting them and tell them what you would like to see change, until change happens. Use your voice. -
I am so excited for you! I can't wait to hear all the details and where your surgery will be.
-
Thanks for answering. How long were you off work after the surgery?
-
May I ask what surgery you had?
-
Do you know which Hosp in Murrieta? A lady in my options class said last night she was told in the information session that San Diego is now an option. I hope I don't end up there, to far away.
-
That is fantastic news! I am so happy for you! He's in Fontana right? Let me know when your consultation is.
-
Thanks for listing everything in them.

I Would like to hear what chewable or gummy vitamins you take. I'm unsure of what brand to buy and exactly what I need. My sleeve will be done in Oct or Nov. A Nut said to take Flintstones but after reading the reviews from rating labs I'm not taking those. Any advice is appreciated.
-
Thank you all for answering. Flintstones is lacking in vit A as well as niacin and some other things. There was a study done by Labdoor and they were rated D-- overall. I tried GNC chewables on Sat and couldn't handle the taste. I'm so confused as to whats quality and what isn't .

I'm hoping it gets better. She gave us a food and exercise log to fill out everyday. That's the most direct advice we got "fill this out, if you eat 15 Cookies one week then eat 5 the next". WTH? I didn't know we will have a different teacher each week. That's encouraging. I will let you know how the next class goes.
