I was curious if anyone has has a hysterectomy after getting the band? Are there precautions that I need to take? Do I need to have an unfill? I have 4 cc and I believe that I am in my green zone. I had my band placed may 27, 2014 and have been able to loose nearly 75 lbs. I am afraid that if I get an unfill I will start to gain.

I don't have dentures, but I do work in a dental office. Yes, as you lose weight your dentures may become loose. My suggestion to you would to frequent your dentist office and have them relined some dentist can do this in house or they can send it to their lab and have it returned to you the same day or early the following day. I would not fork out the money for a new pair until you have lost most or all of your weight. Another option to consider would to get implant retained dentures where they literally snap on and stay on without loss of suction or grip on your pallet. I hope this helps!

So my relationship with my lap band is going on two month! And I'm in love!! I have already lost 50 lbs. My band only has 3.5cc in it and I'm moving along fabulously! The only thing I'm concerned with is that pesky loose skin. I was wondering if anyone had any luck just tightening up with body wraps? You know, like giving myself a reward for doing so well! I understand my skin has been stretched for quite some time so getting back to that smooth tight look will most likely need plastics in the end.. but what about now?! I love love love my band but it's time for me to start making my skin look and feel better.

I only took off the day of surgery and the day after. I'm a dental assistant and I had no problems, just took my time and was cautious of my incisions. I did however use my pain medication at night, but Tylenol did the trick throughout the fist few days.

achy bones the more weight you lose?
JamieGirl replied to betty_s's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I've started seeing a chiropractor because my body ached so much from carrying so much weight for so long. My posture was awful. Needless to say I was still carrying myself like I was holding those extra pounds so my regular adjustments have been helping tremendously. Something to look into!! -
The decision to get the lap band changed my life. Yes I'm am only 4 months in.... but.... Most everyone on both sides of my family is obese, diabetic, or have other weight related issues. I am 25 and have been "big" my entire life. I have tried diets, fads, gyms, and medications. Nothing has worked for me. I have found a new begining with the lap band. Yes, even at 4 months in. I am almost 70 lbs down from the day I walked into the center; I feel AMAZING! I follow my doctors instructions and I listen to my body. Now, I have energy to play with my children, I feel confident about myself, and I am so so so much more happy than I have been in many years. Good luck to you on your journey, only you know what is best for you, accept the changes and the unchanged through this process. It's not always what you expect, but sometimes your not expecting what is to come. Ask questions, lots of questions. Knowledge is power. And you can totally do this! Good luck!

I have had 2 fills and I'm only up to 3cc. Yesterday I just couldn't eat anything! Is it normal for some days to feel really tight? Does my band have a mind of its own??
-
The only other time it felt tight was my first fill when they placed 3cc and I had to go back and have 1 cc taken out. I went back 3 weeks later and they put the 1 cc back in. I have not had any tightness up until yesterday when I tried to eat and it just came right back up. But honestly I wasn't even hungry I just had not eaten all day and figured I needed to get something in me

My last fill was 2 weeks ago.

I am one month post op, and so far my weight loss has been great. My only issue is that I have cut coffee out and replaced it with hot teas. But .... I MISS MY COFFEE!!! Don't get me wrong I love a hot cup of tea but it's so much better in the evening. I need that morning pick me up like coffee!!! What are the guidelines for drinking coffee after lap band?

I used dr Marsden on 5/27 everything went great. I had a 10cc band placed and a hernia repaired. I was up and walking within an hour of waking up! I felt so good that I only took off of work for the day of surgery and the following day. I actually went this morning for my second fill and everything is going fabulous! -

Thank you thank you! I had a cup this morning with some NF milk and was only able to drink 1/2 but didn't feel jittery or anything so I think I may have another tomorrow!

I don't know that I am restricted my doctor never said yes or no, and I have neglected to ask!! So I researched it and found some wls say yes and others say no or restrictions like decaf.

My doctor never said yes or no to coffee. I have searched it online and some wls sites say yes and others say no or with restrictions like decaf. I don't drink a lot but when waking up by 430 every morning i need that liquid pick me up!!
-
Well I couldn't keep anything down so I called my doctor and they had me come in immediately to remove 1cc. So I'm at 2 cc and I feel a million times better! On the bright side to all of this I'm down 3 more lbs! I guess my body wasn't ready for such a large fill.
-
So I had my first fill today! 3cc in my 10cc band! All morning I felt great! Before I left I made sure I could drink water and it went down fine.... but now about 7 hours later I keep spitting up foam! And can't keep the water down! And not just a little foam/spit; I literally filled two empty water bottles because I had nowhere else to spit it! I'm so thirsty and just feel so much pressure, do I need to have some taken out!? Help!!
-
It's been a rough night trying to keep water down, ice was a little better. I'm going to try some hot tea this morning and see if that has any luck. Otherwise I'm just going to have to have them adjust my fill before the start of the weekend.
-
At this point I'll try anything! Thank you for the suggestions!!

I was banded this morning! I was so nervous and excited! Everything went well, they found a large upset and stitched it up. Other than that, no complications. I have been getting up after every nap to walk around the house for 10-15 min. I feel a lot of pressure in my left shoulder, which they said the walking will help. Hopefully that means it will help quickly!

Doing wonderful! 30 lbs down and today I had the energy to play in the sprinkler with my kids! I haven't felt this good in a very long time!!
