What is slime? This is a new term to me - I have only been banded for 3 days.
-
I know this is not the best of topics, but I am now very constipated due to my meds, does anyone have any suggestioins as how I can get things moving. I am drinking loads of water, but yet to no avail.

Goodluck to both of you, I was only banded 3 days ago and I know exactly how you are feeling. My days leading up to the op seemed to go so slowly, now I don't know where the days are going. I am doing well, a little sore but nothing that regular meds aren't fixing. Take care!!

Hello! New here!..... Why do I feel this way?
Rastis100 replied to bparris's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I felt exactly the way you did. I was all excited about going to see the surgeon. When I got home from seeing him, I said to my husband, I don't think I am going to get it done. Having it done was like having to admit that I had a problem, and yes the thought of it being very drastic also crossed my mind. I went through the happy, sad, nervous and even somewhat neurotic stages at times. But once I calmed down, I decided that it would be the best thing I could do for myself. I have now been banded for 3 days and I am so glad I have had it done - the new chapter in my healthy life has began!! -
WOW - Julie, you have done brilliantly, seeing results like this just keeps me even more inspired. Hopefully in the months to come I can be posting some great inspirational losses on here as well. Cheers!

justwaitin2b banded in October and a bit scared
Rastis100 replied to justwaitin2b's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey Guys, Well I was banded 3 days ago and things are going well. I am still not sleeping well though, due to gas/wind pain. But I am still on my regular meds which seem to be helping, plus the nurse told me to drink peppermint tea to help disperse the wind pain, and it's doing wonders so far. I am doing heaps of walking at the moment as well (prowling my hallway at night time), to also try and get things moving. So glad I now am officially banded!!!! Take care everyone!!! -
Who is going in on October 3rd?
Rastis100 replied to cookielover's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Donna, we don't have Gas X strips in Australia, definately give the peppermint tea a go. The nurse said to try and drink it as hot as possible but obviously without burning your mouth. I couldn't sleep lastnight due to gas pain and I had a cup of peppermint tea and wola things began to disperse - it was great. -

Wow Bob - you are doing great - well done!!! I was banded only 3 days ago and things are going well. A little tender and sore at times, but apart from that all is good. I look forward to my new banded lifestyle. -
Thanks heaps faithmd, it's so great to get replies, especially when they are encouraging. I am glad to see that my sleepless nights will soon come to an end.

Who is going in on October 3rd?
Rastis100 replied to cookielover's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Cookielover, I went in on October 3rd at the same time as you. Everything went really well and I was returned to my ward at about 12.30 pm. I slept for most of the next 12 hours, and then walked the halls of the hospital during the night to try and get rid of some of the wind/gas pain. I am currently still having a bit of gas pain, but not too bad. I have been drinking cups of hot peppermint tea, walking heaps and taking my pain meds regularly and all this seems to be helping. -
Moopymom you are so glad you have not needed many pain meds. I am still taking them regularly at the moment. It's currently 3 am here in Perth (Australia), and I am a little unconfortable and can't sleep, so I thought I'd come and check out my "new web family" and see if I have any replies. Are you having any problems sleeping at night since you've had the band put on?

Goodluck Carrot06 - I hope everything goes really well for you and I am looking forward to hearing your progress.

Hi Suzee, Congratulations on your band!!! I am eating jelly, broth, and some yogart at this stage, although not very much. I just get full so quickly - which is a good thing - it means my band it doing it's job. -
Nume130 - it will be all over before you know it - good luck and congratulations on the best decision of your life.

Rastis100 replied to OregonHolly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey Holly, I was banded on the 3rd, it's so great to finally be banded. Please add me to your list. Cheers - Rastis -
I know exactly how you feel. I was banded on the 3rd and everything went really well. Like you, I am pacing my house due to gas/wind pain. Fluids are going down no problem. Thank goodness for the painkillers cause they have helped heaps. I can't believe all the build up to the operation is over and I am now officially banded - what a great feeling.

I was also banded Oct 3rd, and I have had terrible wind pain as well, I thought I was having a heart attack, and they actually did an ECG on me to make sure I wasn't. I am walking heaps and that seems to helping me. But one of the nurses in the hospital actually suggested drinking peppermint tea and to drink it as hot as I could. It seemed to get things moving. -
Hi Guys, I had my surgery done on Oct 3. I didn't have any shoulder pain, but I definately had pain in my chest area due to wind/gas. I also have been doing heaps of walking and moving around and it seems to be doing the trick. I am on regular meds for the next 4-5 days, and am feeling pretty good at the moment. I am not hungry at all, so I guess my band is doing it's thing.
-
I know exactly how you feel, I was so nervous leading up to it. I can't believe it is now all done and that my new journey begins. I honestly don't feel hungry at all, but it is only early days yet, so I am assuming the hunger will slowly return. Good luck Jenne for the 11th - you'll do great!!
-
Thanks Laura - will let you know how I go. Have been awake since 4.30 am and was awake from about 1.30am-3.00am, so I did get a little sleep. YAY - soon I will be an official bandster.
-
I just wanted to share with everyone that this time tomorrow I will officially be banded - YIPPEE, YAHOO - I AM SO EXCITED!!!!:whoo::whoo:

Hello to all October bansters. I am being banded in two days and I can't wait. Everytime I think about it my stomach does the biggest flip and I get the feeling of butterflies in my stomach. I have so much nervous energy at the moment it is unbelieveable, luckily I have a very support husband that reassures me and calms me down when I need it. I think the biggest thing that I am worried about is going into "the unknown". I also have the feeling of doubt - will this really work cause I have tried so many other things and failed. Is anyone else feeling like this? GOODLUCK TO ALL OF US - WE DESERVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
