    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

I have been eating chicken and other soft foods and I still don't feel like I an getting full like I should. I too feel like my sleeve might be too big, I feel like they didn't make it small enough to lose the amount of weight I was told I'd lose :/

    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

I am almost 3 and a half weeks out; my surgery was June 4th. Based on other diets I've seen on here, I almost feel like I am eating too much. I have been eating like 2 ounces of chicken or fish for a meal. My usual day consists of a scrambled egg w/ cheese for breakfast and then 2 oz of chicken, fish, or lean turkey lunch meat for both lunch and dinner. I haven't had any nausea or sickness from it yet...

    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

I was able to eat about an ounce and a half of blended up chicken breast today, I put a little tomato sauce and cheese in it and it definitely tasted the best out of anything I've had in the last two and a half weeks after my surgery. Hopefully the tomato sauce is ok since my surgery tool book doesn't really mention it being something to stay away from.

Maybe you could call and try to get in earlier, and if it gets too bad maybe you should go to an urgent care or something just to be safe. I'm also terrified because my insurance doesn't cover anything with weight loss so I was a self pay so if anything goes wrong I am so screwed

    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

I have no idea, I don't have much pain anymore but I just don't feel full. And I saw someone above mentioned eating too much causing leaks so now I am nervous that I am eating and drinking too much. This whole thing is scary.

    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

I was sleeved on June 4th, the nausea was terrible for the first few days but it gets easier. I feel like deep down I expected to lose more weight than what I have so far. I'm afraid my expectations are too high. I'm also scared because I'm on the soft food stage and when I eat I still don't always feel like I get full. I'm so scared that I'm eating too much without realizing it... This whole process has been the hardest thing ever and I'm still nervous everyday.

I am about a week and a half post op, I'm on the soft food stage. Anyone have any good food ideas that have protein? I still have to wait another week before I can purée meat.

Well I had my surgery yesterday, my surgeon said it went perfectly. I'm still in the hospital, not sure if I can go home today or not though cause I'm so nauseous. The pain isn't too terrible but every time I try to sip water I feel like I'm going to throw up. Not trying to scare anyone, just thought I should share. Let's just hope it goes away soon so I can look at the positives!

I bought a few different types of protein shakes just to be safe but the one I am most excited to try is Unjury. My doctor recommends that one a lot and I've heard great reviews! You can only get it online though at www.unjury.com. And don't worry, I wasn't instructed to do liquids before either, I even asked my doctor after I read all these posts and he said every one is different but that he didn't think I had to...so hopefully everything goes well because I only have 5 days until Wednesday!!!!

I wasn't instructed go do all liquids either so it's a relief to see another person that hasn't been on a pre-op liquid diet. My sleeve is scheduled for June 4th!!! I'm so nervous but I'm excited too! I enjoy the Rockin Refuel protein drinks. Good idea with the unflavored protein powder, I'll have to look into that. I also ordered a couple cookbooks for after the surgery! Feel free to talk to me anytime you need, no one can ever have enough support!!!

    Any 2014 June Sleevers

Ok well I already take a multi vitamin everyday so maybe I will try to replace at least some of my meals with protein shakes just to try to start getting used to it. I only have 1 week to go! June 4th is coming quick!!! Do you guys know what all vitamins you'll have to do post-op yet? My doctor said multivitamins, vitamin b-12, and calcium. I was kinda shocked to hear there was only 3 because I remember hearing stories about people having to take "so many" vitamins the rest of their lives.

For people that are doing a pre-op liquid diet, are you guys doing your vitamins already too? I just find it so weird that I wasn't instructed to do a liquid diet before my surgery...

    Any 2014 June Sleevers

My doctor never instructed me to do a pre-op liquid diet either. He just said to try not to eat anything "too heavy" during the week before my surgery. I even asked again because I've been seeing so much about the liquid diets but he said that every person is different and he didn't see a need for me to do that. So hopefully everything goes well, I get it June 4th.

    PCOS and telling my friends

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I just got home from my pre-op EGD and talked with my surgeon. He said everything looked good and I am officially good to go! June 4th here we come, only two weeks to go!!!

    PCOS and telling my friends

I'm glad to hear all these success stories cause my brain seems to always try to find something negative with this surgery coming up. I keep thinking that I'm gonna be this weird exception that doesn't lose weight because of my PCOS. I'm just ready to get this started, I can't wait to not feel so helpless anymore!

    Any 2014 June Sleevers

I go for my pre-op EGD tomorrow, it's required just to make sure there's no surprises whenever I go for the surgery. Tomorrow marks the exact two week mark until this happens!!!! It's getting so real!!

    Any 2014 June Sleevers

Yeah I have been trying to get this surgery for years but my insurance will not cover it even though I've had countless doctors try to fight it and prove that it's "medically necessary"! It is so ridiculous! So now I decided to just go in and do self pay and guess what... Only about three months later, BOOM I'm scheduled for surgery already. It's sad how much money talks but insurances don't want to consider this a serious surgery that is sometimes needed! Anyone else out there self paying? I'm a little nervous about it cause I guess if there are complications my insurance won't help me with any of that either :/

    Any 2014 June Sleevers

I am scheduled for June 4th also!! I am starting to get so nervous! I am glad to have found this group so we can help each other out. My nutritionalist didn't say I had to do a pre-op liquid diet but just to make sure I ate very light foods during the week before my surgery. Any recommendations? I am getting so nervous yet excited at the same time!

    PCOS and telling my friends

That is so awesome to hear that people are losing even with PCOS! I am only 23 years old (24 in two months) and I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 15. I have it severely, I have only had a period 2-3 times in my life! I am set to have the sleeve surgery on June 4th so only a little over two weeks from now! I hope I have as great a success as you guys because I feel like nothing has ever worked for me... If you guys have any helpful tips or just want someone to talk to, feel free to message me! I am going to need all the support I can get!

    10 days Post Op

It's so awesome to hear good experiences! I go for my sleeve surgery on June 4th so the nervousness is starting to creep on because it's finally starting to set in! I have had a previous DVT (blood clot) in my leg so I have to take blood thinners after the surgery for awhile to try to help with that. But I am still pretty scared yet so excited for this journey. Any helpful tips you guys can give me?

    Almost surgery time

It is great to hear that you are doing well! It helps to hear stories like that because sometimes when I search thei get bet I find scary stories about peoples complications and I am a self pay so that makes me very nervous! I guess the best thing to do is to just focus on the positive since I am this close! That is great that your wife is so supportive, my husband has been with me every step of the way so far so I know he is ready to help me out with this lifestyle change as well. I know I am ready to work hard for this because I have had weight issues my whole life and I am ready for the change! I'll just feel a little better after I'm out of surgery and things are going well!

    Almost surgery time

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting on here. I am scheduled for sleeve surgery on June 4th so less than 3 weeks away! The closer it gets the more my emotions go into overdrive. I so excited yet am getting more nervous at the same time. I'm hoping it's just the last minute jitters. Anyone have any words of wisdom or tips to give me? I look forward to talking to you guys on here, I will need all the extra support I can get!!!
