I'm 6 days post-op and things seem to be going pretty well. However, when I eat, my stomach will clench up enough to make me stop, rumble a bunch and then release. It's happened while eating different things, so I'm not sure if it's food related or does this mean I'm full? Any guidance is appreciated!

Coming home to an empty house after surgery...
nikkisue replied to Beth Pets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You'll be fine. My husband set up his mom staying with me afterwards. Today is day #2 and I'm going nutty lol. I can't wait for her to leave tonight! -
I'm 1 day post-op and my stomach won't stop rumbling. I thought maybe it was due to sweetness or coldness from sugar-free Popsicles and Greek yogurt that I froze. But who knows...

I've bought Fage plain yogurt because it has 23g of protein per cup but it is terrible, lol. I added some PB2 peanut butter powder to it and froze it...it's almost palatable now.

Sleeved yesterday morning. My procedure was outpatient, so I went in at 715 and came home about 2. Spent most of the day sleeping off anesthesia, but had little pain. Doc fixed a hiatal hernia I had and took a sample of some fat that was on my liver. Pain is a bit worse today, any moving if my trunk is rough. I haven't had much gas pain luckily. Oddly though, I feel pretty great and can't believe I had surgery yesterday. I've some strange stomach rumblings, not sure if it's gas or just that it doesn't like some of the things I'm putting in it (Popsicles and pb2 Greek yogurt smoothie).

Well, I'm scheduled for my sleeve at 7:15 this am. I'm excited and so very nervous. Not about the sleeve, just surgery in general; for some reason I just get very morbid any time I have to go under. It's irrational, I know probably 25 people who've had a wls and none have had any surgical complications. Ahh well, it'll be fine. Just took my "before" pics....I never feel as big as I look in pics, sometimes I forget I'm as big as I am, lol. So, is there anyone else getting sleeved today?

Going in at 7:15 today. Nervous, excited and hungry, lol. Good luck everyone, see you on the flip side -
I started on Syntrax last week and so far the apple is not great, the pink grapefruit is ok, but the blue one (I can't remember the name) is delicious!

Question about hospitalisation post op
nikkisue replied to knzt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My procedure will likely be outpatient unless there's an issue. Dr. Clark is the only surgeon I've seen do outpatient sleeves, though. -
Surgeon Consult on Monday...Hope I weigh enough!
nikkisue replied to imreadynow's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol, we spend our whole lives trying to lose weight, except at that first weigh-in. I was right at 41 BMW, so I stopped watching my weight about a week before, just to make sure. -
I have an 8 month old who loves and my 12 year old always steals them from him, lol. Haven't tried them myself yet, but maybe I'll hafta!

I feel like crying......weight loss before preop diet?!
nikkisue replied to Anewlife2live's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chia seeds help "clean out" your intestinal tract. A couple tablespoons a day ends up being really productive, I honk you should only do maybe a couple teaspoons if you haven't been eating them already. Magnesium citrate is the old weigh-in trick; it's a laxative that works quite well. These are both tricks, but do work in a pinch. Obviously diet and exercise is best, but I'd hate for 1 lb to hold you back. -
Newport News/Hampton, va/Careplex
nikkisue replied to mochax's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm scheduled for surgery on August 11th with him. He comes pretty highly recommended. I have 2 friends who've had procedures with him and are both super happy. I like him, his center seems very accomodating. -
When will my FUPA go away?
nikkisue replied to LumpySpacePrincess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol, fupa. Haven't heard that in ages. I have a feeling they never disappear, ugh. I figure that's the one pregnancy souvenir I'll be stuck unless I get it cut off. -
*judgey* not judged

First disclaimer: I haven't had surgery yet, so I have no personal experience to speak of. I don't think previous posters were intentionally trying to be judged....that can be the problem with written communication. Alot of inflection is lost and the tone we read with may not be the intended tone. To me, the posts read like this: just because you can gulp and can eat 8 oz doesn't mean you should. You wouldn't even know you could do those things unless you tried to do them. Anyway I hope your doctor can help out!

$600 Bariatric Program Fee
nikkisue replied to CurvyCakes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, ours is like $1050. They can charge because most of us are desperate at this point and will pay. He's also the only dr within 50 miles that's in -network with my insurance. -
Hampton Roads Sleevers? Any one out there?
nikkisue replied to swimbikerun's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm in HR, too. Just started the process this week, but it's already moving quickly. Now I'm just trying to sort out insurance and short term disability issues for work. Is/has anyone seen Dr Clark? And are all his sleeves outpatient? -
Any Richmond, Va sleevers?
nikkisue replied to skinniminiwannabe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good morning! I'm in Chesapeake, with surgery in Newport News. I went to a seminar on Saturday, did a 1on 1 Tuesday and will probably have a July or August date. It's going much faster than I thought, with only a few prerequisites. We have a vacation planned in early July, so I'll wait til after for surgery.
