Ladies only...menstrual & ex depo-provera use questions
gilliebean replied to LynneB's topic in The Gals' Room
Va Luvbug I would guess that you probably stopped having your period cause of the change of life and the stress of the surgery is just making you spot that it will probably stop. I had my period for six weeks after surgery cause thats how my body dealt with the stress. -

gilliebean replied to LynneB's topic in The Gals' Room
i was on depo for 7 years before i went off it to have my second child. My period came back in three months but it hurt like hell until my period got regular. before the depo i didn't have cramps ever so it was a shock to me. but it got better. I am not back on depo since my surgery and everything is over and i love it no periods its great. -
Still waiting on my surgery date
gilliebean replied to thughes113's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
if you haven't decided which surgery you really want then don't stress about you not having a date yet this is not something you want to rush into its a life changing forever surgery. -
Anyone NEVER found proper restriction?
gilliebean replied to Yvonne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
dont feel like that when was your last fill maybe since your swelling is down you can handle a little more now. Maybe you do need to diet and help the band do its job. Also what i do cause i to can still eat large portions i eat my 4 to 6 oz of meat then i eat lots of veggies and fill up on those. Hope this helps atleast some -
sounds like you gallbladder to me and you probably need to go get it checked. Having gallbladder problems is a common side effect of this surgery i fortunitly already had my gallbladder taken out after i had my daughter.

When does it start to work??
gilliebean replied to noahsmomm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My diet verys greatly. Recently i have decided to throw a day of liquids in a week to confuss my body tho. I try to keep my calories between 800-1300. Some days i eat a lean pocket for breakfast a cheap microwave meal from walmart and then some kind of baked meat with lots of veggies for dinner. My diet really does very i eat most normal things i just really try to limit what i eat. Now don't get me wrong im not out there eating cake and crap i mean every once in a while is fine but not like once a week is probably to much. i hope that helps. Also morning star makes lots of really good healthy options of some good foods like veggie sausage which taste like real sausage and corn dogs and chicken pattys so you might want to look into that. -
When does it start to work??
gilliebean replied to noahsmomm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes it is fast cause i am working really hard to lose it that fast and with bypass in the begining you will lose alot of weight with little to no effort is what i was trying to say. I know many people who have had bypass and don't have to work out, and can eat what they want just not the amount they want minus sugar cause that makes most bypass patients sick. Both surgerys do require alot of work in yourself cause it messes with everything we have taught our selves. But generally this surgery works very slowly. Thats why the statics are as bad as they are they are based mostly on people who just did the surgery and nothing else. The only reason i have lost the amount of weight i have is first of all i am really big so it comes off faster in the begining and i work hard i eat between 800-1300 calories and i work out hard five days a week. I have gone three weeks at a time and lost nothing. -

If you want it to come off fast you are having the wrong surgery. The band is a tool to help you control yourself. With the band you will not lose weight unless you work with your band. The bypass is the surgery that requires you to do nothing. With the bypass you will lose the weight without much work however with that surgery its harder to keep it off cause it doesn't teach you how to eat right which the band does if you listen to your body. With both surgerys you can eat around it so its really about self control and learning what you can and can't do. Or you can and can't do in moderation. -
They want you to lose weight because it shrinks your liver the first thing that gains or loses fat is your liver. When they do the laporscope they use this special tool to hold your liver out of the way and if there is to much fat around it then it cant be held up and you can't have surgery.

Help! I can't get full.
gilliebean replied to Catarina's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
depends on how much they put in did they do it under fluro? I was still pretty hungry after my first fill to but my second fill was really helpful I still get hungry but i can't eat nearly what i could before. I always try to make sure i eat my meat first cause that keeps you fuller longer. -

Consultation, need advice on Lap Band
gilliebean replied to mommyof5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Go to your consultation and get all your questions answered. Its really not as bad as it sounds. If you get to tight were your getting sick you just go and the doctor takes some fluid out and your good to go. I look at my band like a good parent. It lets me have to good things and when i go for the bad things it slaps me on the hand and says no. -
First you need to relax a little bit the stress is bad for your heart and your diet. Try to remember to eat healthy so keep fruit and veggies in the house if you feel like snacking snack on that. Even tho you didn't get your surgery done at you local hospital you may still beable to go to there support group meetings and meet with other bandsters. You are not alone and you came to the right place. Please do not give up on yourself. How much are you eating? Whats your age? the older you are the harder it is to lose. I am also sure that being laid up having surgery is not helping your diet. It also might do you good to read threw all the post here cause there is great inspiration here. There is a lady who was on a plataue for like two years and she is now losing once again so don't get discouraged get impowered. I hope this helped atleast a little bit.

I wish that my desire for food left when i had surgery and that i was never hungry but the head hunger has me by the shirt tails. Hopefully once i get another fill it will fix it but i was filled to much with the last fill and don't want to have that again. Good luck on your journey. -

go into you edit signiture. Click on your ticker then put in your pin make sure you click the sign in button cause if you just hit enter it will tell you that your pin is wrong rather it is or not. Then you scroll down and change your weight. And your ticker will then automatically update. Hope you can make since of this. -
