    Carbonated Water?

I was a huge diet coke addict for more years than I can remember. I slowed down for several months then went cold turkey in August, surgery was mid October. I was dying for that taste in my mouth one time. I poured a 1/4 cup, added ice, waited until it quit bubbling and took a small sip. It tasted ao awful and sickly sweet, I was so bummed. Tried a second time with a different source and same taste. Bummer Dude!

    OCTOBER 2014

134 this morning, 40 pounds down from surgery date, total of 91 lost with 15 more to go to my goal weight. Though my doctor predicted I would be at 110 by my 6 month appointment. Remember I am 4'11, so my weight will be less.

    OCTOBER 2014

Also, Omg, set myself up for dumping incident big time last night. Busy day taking care of mom, and did not eat lunch or have my Snacks. Then at 6 pm, ended up with stomach pain which had to be from hunger. I was out and only had some spicy chile lime Protein snacks with me, which I only ate a few. Then I had some chicken satay when I got to my friends for dinner. Had a bite of papaya salad. I am cleared for raw veggies at this point. I have had the satay before with no problem. But ended up with full dumping syndrome. I thought it had passed when I got in the car but ended up on the side of the road dry heaving my guts out. Total of 5 hours of the worst pain and vomiting. I must eat regularly if I am gonna be able to take care of mom and not go thru that again. Stomach still hurt most the day today, but finally feeling better.

All the research I did before surgery was that 50% gain back 20% of their total weight loss and 20% gain back 50%. I just plan to be in the 50% group. I also hope to get down low enough that I can handle the 20% regain.

    OCTOBER 2014

Hey all october losers, I am stuck in a stall, and feeling it. I am staying with my mom in DC taking care of her, she has cancer and starting radiation and chemo tomorrow, she has a feeding tube as she is not able to swallow anything due to the cancer. I am down, and frustrated with my stall. Need to pay attention to my meals a bit more, but it is hard. wah, wah wah, blah blah blah. A long time friend was supposed to come see tonight and he is a no show, bummer. Miss my guy friend back in GA. Oh well, enough of the pity party.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I went out New Years Eve and wore these heels, have not worn heels like this in 25 years. Danced all night and never had to go out to the car for my back up flats.

Cant believe it, never even thought this was a possibility last New Years. 85 pounds gone since March 21, the day I was diagnosed with Diabetes. Who would have thought that would be the beginning of my new healthy life. Woot woot!!! Happy New Years to the best support group there is.

    OCTOBER 2014

so while I was home in Virginia, I convinced my son to order a Roy Roger's gold rush chicken sandwich, so I could have a few bites. I had 4 small bites, thought I chewed well and ended up in terrible pain and the foamies. Guess that was not such a good idea. Live and learn, that was the worst food experience so far. BUT.... after all the holidays and food, where I ate small bites of lots of things, I ended up dropping 2 more pounds, so must not have been as bad as I thought. I just might make my goal of 140 by new years eve. 1.5 pounds to get there. A girl can hope.

    Weird hiccuping thing...

my hiccup is my full signal, sometimes it means just past full and comes with discomfort if I had not eaten slow enough. But definitely means I am full up!

    Lightbulb moment?

I had hiatal hernia repaired, and after surgery, they gave me the patch behind my ear 4 days, then a liquid antacid for two weeks, I have not had any nausea, though I still burp if I eat or drink too fast. Also, days after surgery I figured out that plain water did not agree with me at all, it gave me liquid burps and stomach pain. had to drink powerade zero or crystal light, been afraid to drink straight water ever since.
  14. So type 2 diabetes here, my numbers were under control before surgery with Janumet. Post surgery, no more meds, and the first few weeks my numbers were good, even saw some ranging around 90. I have found when I get mentally stressed out my numbers will go up, not outrageous but higher, 125 to 140, morning numbers. Now I am not stressing mentally about anything really at this point, but my numbers are still high, seen 125 to 150 this week. Could some of this be the physical stress of the surgery and changes, cranky about my diet, 9 more days on pureed. What numbers are other folks seeing post op? I was diagnosed with diabetes in March 2014, so really don't understand the numbers except when I am anxiety ridden, they go up. I am afraid I will still need diabetes meds:( :(

    OCTOBER 2014

I had two or thee small bites of chocolate pecan pie, with no problem, but I had some dumping with sugar free chocolate pudding with added chocolate truffle protein powder added. I think it was the bigger serving, as it was all plan approved but very rich, and I had one to many bites. I got hot, sweaty, heart racing and nauseous.

    OCTOBER 2014

Here is a funny, got pulled over by a cop today, he takes my driver's license, and checked it out and said "200 POUNDS, YOU DON'T LOOK LIKE YOU WEIGH 200 POUNDS" in a very snarky tone, almost like I was 400 saying 200, and with a big grin I responded, Yep, I have lost 79 pounds, course that was from 225, didn't need to tell him that.

@@Bronxmerci, whoooh, can you hear my sigh of relief, so glad you are still with us. Keep doing what you are supposed to and you will feel back to normal or even better than normal due to weight loss. ????????????
  23. My experience so far has been a good one, 2 months out. I would describe most of my pain as general discomfort. Biggest problem I had was figuring out that plain Water was not my friend, have to do flavored water, Powerade zero etc. Have tolerated most foods well, just need to remember to slow down. Most folks go through a period of regret, but it passes as the pounds are lost. I lost 50 preop and 28 post op in two months. Best thing I did, wish I could have before.
