There has been evidence to that for years, and I am a prime example. They say you gain weight as a shield, that if you are fat your molester will leave you alone. And that many people start to feel vunerable as they lose weight and become "more attractive" and it is can cause to regaining the weight or stopping your attempts to lose weight. There have been many studies about this, as well as other types of abusive households with children in them, obesity is much more prevelant. -
How about your jewelry (rings) after surgery?
smiley922 replied to pik's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Never heard of a speed ball in relation to sizing a ring, please explain... And I am from Fairfax Co VA originally, thought it might be a local term, but we are from the same area. -
I have two friends who had gastric bypass and both were miserable for the first few/6 months, regretted the surgery and then after six months they both said they would do it again. I figure that's fairly standard for gastric bypass. Feel better and hang in there.

Congrats, I look forward to the day I am no longer Morbidly Obese, enjoy your awesome VCAY with the family! -
Have not had the surgery yet, but I know from past weight loss, and what I have read here, you will lose in different areas as the weight loss progresses. You should gain a neck at some point, don't worry.

Anyone in Atl, Ga area?
smiley922 replied to Angel❤️'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in Buford, have the psych appointment on the 11th, and then the surgeon will tell me whats next, I think after that, we start getting down to the nitty gritty to start gettting ready to submit to insurance. Where are y'all getting the surgery done. -
Awos, I am curious, I have Humana and my info says you have to have failed with medically supervised weight loss. Was that a requirement for you, and did that apply. I have never had medically supervised weight loss until I was diagnosed with diabetes In March and since then I have lost 40 pounds so cant call that unsuccessful. My family and friends all keep saying, if I can lose 40 I should keep going and not have surgery, this drives me nuts.

Will I need Depends? Have a job which has no access to bathroom breaks.
smiley922 replied to smiley922's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The doctor says a week, I am planning for two hopefully but self employed, if I am not working I am not making money, pray I don't need a third, but if so I will survive. -

My first topic, sorry such a yucky one. I have a strange job, I am an investigator and work in my car, doing surveillance 8 hour shifts. I have meals and urination covered, been doing this many years. But I am worried about my bowels and whether I will need Depends, which I really dont want to resort too. Any thoughts? -

smiley922 replied to smiley922's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tend to be more constipated unless I am having a problem. I can take a break if emergency, but I really try not to. Also a bathroom could be15 minutes away. I just was not sure on the smoothie/pureed stage how loose your bowels would be. -
I also have Humana POS, but I still have a few hoops to jump through before they submit to insurance. How long have you been working on this, also curious what state. I am in Georgia. I will be watching to see what happens with you now. LOL.

Who is your surgeon? Best of luck to you.
