  1. Hi! I was just banded on Sept. 20 by Dr. Schmitt in Birmingham, AL. Today is my first day of full liquids. What a treat that Protein shake was this morning! Still feeling a bit gassy and I'm not sure I can tell the difference between restriction and gas. Anyone else feel this way?

    Just Banded

Liquids are going fine. I have a 35 mg Protein drink in the am that holds me until around lunch time when I have a Campbell's Soup-at-Hand. I have another Protein Drink in the afternoons for a "snack"...this one has 17 mg of protein in it. Then I usually have Soup again at dinner. I haven't really been hungry but I'm looking forward to mushies in another week or so just to break up the monotony. How about you?

Jane, I'm sure it's different for everyone but, for me, it was a feeling of pressure inside my abdomen. It felt like I needed to burp really badly but couldn't. That feeling is completely gone now. Now my only problem is occasional EXTREME pain in my left shoulder due to remaining trapped gas. Hopefully this will go away soon. Congratulations!
  4. 3 weeks? I'm not sure I can last 3 weeks. I had my surgery on 9/20 and I was hoping it would go away any day. Yesterday was the worst by far. Nothing else hurts except my shoulder, particularly after I've been up for a few hours. The pain goes away if I lie down on my left side but I can't stay in bed all day...I'm back at work already and have 3 kids when I get home. Did anything give you relief during those 3 weeks?
  5. I was banded on 9/20 and the only pain I'm having now is the extreme gassiness. Like you, I wish I could let out a huge burp. I think this is normal...I'm just waiting for it to go away...hopefully soon.
