Any tips to get out of a stall?
Rovobay replied to gal friday's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
gotta keep your body guessing. change up your routine, your eating habits. I was pretty much stalled over a month. I fasted (less than 600 calories a day) for a day and changed up my fitness routine and the scale started moving again. it worked for me.... good luck. -

@@Lidreaux you are in the right place for guidance and motivation. back to basics, recording your foods, lean Protein first, what is your exercise routine like? you can do this!!! you log in myfitnesspal? add me (same username) and add others, you can see what they eat, it may give you some great meal ideas. I know it has helped me!!!

Got told by a coworker today that I'm taking the "easy way"
Rovobay replied to Jerr_Bear's topic in Rants & Raves
So happy I did not tell anyone. sorry for your troubles. easy my asss... this is serious hard work. running until the verge of passing out, watching people eat the things you love, recording everything you eat, every pound lost is a hard earned pound. -
What's the best protein drink on the market?
Rovobay replied to megieg's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I like the ready to drink Premier Protein. all 3 flavors are good. my favorite right now is the vanilla shake with a double espresso mixed in!!! My Breakfast everyday since pre-op has been a Premier Protein ready to drink shake. My post workout shake is different. I like the fruity flavors by Syntrax nectar. I am going through the fuzzy navel right now. great taste. contact the company and they can send you a sample pack ($15 for 15 different flavors or something). I have some Isopure unflavored just sitting in my cabinet, but I need to find out what to do with it. haven't had much luck with it. -
My husband is not attracted to me - 2 weeks post-op
Rovobay replied to marbelvsg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Me, last 2 days.... I am sure it will all work out. some people say things they don't mean, others hear something and interpret their true meaning incorrectly. you said he has been super supportive, so I bet things will work out for you. Lots of emotions recovering from surgery. take care -
Good one @@*Lexie* no difference.

What do you tell people?
Rovobay replied to QuilterGal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
never told anyone (except wife). I am pretty private and I don't like attention. if people ask. I tell them input-output, simple math. watching what I eat and exercising a lot (which is all true!!!) -

Things you wish someone had told you?
Rovobay replied to Joey Jackson's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't sneeze!!!! seriously, don't do it. Worst pain ever. sneezed about 6 days post op and thought I was going to die. fight the urge anyway possible. coughing sucks, but not nearly as bad as a sneeze. try to put pressure on your stomach if you do need to cough... -
sensation good or bad? it will likely change either way, the further you get post-op.
-
grams of Protein per meal? 30 grams, more than that your body doesn't absorb it all (as studies say) ounces of high protein food? at 8 weeks out 2-3 ounces of meat such as chicken or tuna (which is roughly 30g!)

Any GERD sufferers who were still able to get their sleeve done?
Rovobay replied to kjkeller102's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@kjkeller102 first off, welcome. I apparently have GERD as found in my upper endoscopy prior to surgery. I was placed on a Prilosec. I have no problems at all. would rather pop a pill daily than die too young because of my weight.... -
well you will have an IV hydrating you... your thirst is likely dry mouth. yes you can start sipping drips of Water or swishing water around in your mouth and spitting it out. I was given these sponges to help with dry mouth.... good luck.

Only loss 10pds in 4 weeks
Rovobay replied to hanginthere's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
apples and oranges.... hard to say if that is bad or good? are you 6' tall and 220 pounds? or 4'11" at 390#? how much do you have to lose? don't worry, it will start falling off soon. you are 4 weeks out, time to start hitting the gym (if it is okay with your doctor). do you log your food? myfitnesspal is great. Protein first. give your body time to adjust. hang in there.
