How long did you wait for approval from BCBS Federal?
Rovobay replied to mamaofmatthew's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have bcbs federal too. I can't wait to hear your results. hoping for the best for you. -
Insurance seems to be one of the main concerns with wls due to the sheer costs of the surgery. I think it would be great to have an insurance subforum. it would be great to break it down even further into major insurance providers where people can instantly come together. just a thought. great forum either way. cheers. happy 4th!!!

it would be very nice to offset some costs of this journey to receive some needed Protein shakes at a reduced or free rate!

Divorce rates and WLS. (link to article inside)
Rovobay replied to bflblog's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
interesting read. I will share this article with my spouse. -
this too is also my biggest question. I think from what I have heard is a night or 2 in hospital then a week prior to returning to work on average. everyone is different.

I love pizza... I can't wait to try the cauliflower pizza crust. I have heard great things about it. I need to check that blog out too. I should start sampling somethings now, before surgery!

What do you miss most after Weight Loss Surgery?
Rovobay replied to Menelly's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
half way through all these posts and thought I would add some thoughts. in preparation for pending surgery, I have quit drinking (95% less than before)(I may have a drink tonight to enjoy the fireworks), also quit soda too. switched over to non-carbonated drinks like iced tea. I have heard this said before... "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" I think for me it will be emotional or mental battle more than physical. -
Insurance help
Rovobay replied to phewforaminutethere's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@phewforaminutethere I can't believe no one has mentioned it yet. there are many people on here who have gone to Mexico for the procedure. I think many people are paying around 3500-4000. no insurance to deal with. I never looked into it too much because my bcbs covers the procedure. there is a sub-forum on here somewhere for mexico procedures i think. either way, best of luck to you. -

Friends & Feelings
Rovobay replied to virtualpisces's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
All great words above. I think this is why I have opted to not tell anyone besides my wife. I will deal with it as it comes up, and the more i read on this sight the more prepared I feel that I will be able to respond to common cynicism and misconceptions about wls. hopefully by the time someone squeezes the truth out of me, I will be 100lbs lighter. -
I knew I shouldn't have said anything!
Rovobay replied to erint2014's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that is too bad. I guess that is why I am telling nobody but my wife.... misinformation seems to be the true enemy. best of luck next week!!! -

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
Rovobay replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I promise to make it through every single one of these posts. My moments were: Wife pregnant with second child Uniform getting tighter and tighter ... breaking buttons. (Officer) Less desire to be active Uncomfortable on planes I had to squeeze into a booth at a restaurant... never had that happen before. -
@@misica2771 welcome. good luck on your surgery. where are you getting it done? I am from SE Portland. Going thru Legacy Good Sam.

Rovobay replied to Ambwee's topic in Insurance & Financing
so exciting and nerve racking at the same time. I just got some medical history from 2009 showing I was over 40BMI. I haven't been to the dr. since then for 5 years. I am hopeful that all will play out my way. going through all the programs as well. fingers crossed when I get to that point. -
keep trying. appeal. hoping for the best. good advise above.

try public libraries. https://multcolib.org/public-meeting-rooms I know legacy good sam already has support group meetings ran by Oregon Weight and Diabetes Institute. like this one: https://www.eventsvc.com/legacyhealth/event/bd9e7f0f-31a1-4aa5-bd4a-d18526c47622
