  1. I have bcbs federal too. I can't wait to hear your results. hoping for the best for you.
  2. Insurance seems to be one of the main concerns with wls due to the sheer costs of the surgery. I think it would be great to have an insurance subforum. it would be great to break it down even further into major insurance providers where people can instantly come together. just a thought. great forum either way. cheers. happy 4th!!!

Insurance to pay for protein shakes

it would be very nice to offset some costs of this journey to receive some needed Protein shakes at a reduced or free rate!
  4. interesting read. I will share this article with my spouse.

    GS recovery time?

this too is also my biggest question. I think from what I have heard is a night or 2 in hospital then a week prior to returning to work on average. everyone is different.

    new foods?

I love pizza... I can't wait to try the cauliflower pizza crust. I have heard great things about it. I need to check that blog out too. I should start sampling somethings now, before surgery!
  7. half way through all these posts and thought I would add some thoughts. in preparation for pending surgery, I have quit drinking (95% less than before)(I may have a drink tonight to enjoy the fireworks), also quit soda too. switched over to non-carbonated drinks like iced tea. I have heard this said before... "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" I think for me it will be emotional or mental battle more than physical.

    Insurance help

@@phewforaminutethere I can't believe no one has mentioned it yet. there are many people on here who have gone to Mexico for the procedure. I think many people are paying around 3500-4000. no insurance to deal with. I never looked into it too much because my bcbs covers the procedure. there is a sub-forum on here somewhere for mexico procedures i think. either way, best of luck to you.
  9. nice post and I will always appreciate any comments from someone who has succeeded.

    Friends & Feelings

All great words above. I think this is why I have opted to not tell anyone besides my wife. I will deal with it as it comes up, and the more i read on this sight the more prepared I feel that I will be able to respond to common cynicism and misconceptions about wls. hopefully by the time someone squeezes the truth out of me, I will be 100lbs lighter.
  11. that is too bad. I guess that is why I am telling nobody but my wife.... misinformation seems to be the true enemy. best of luck next week!!!
  12. looks like good advice above. hopefully by the time you read this all of that is behind you. hydrate and Vitamins. cheers

(Officer) Less desire to be active Uncomfortable on planes I had to squeeze into a booth at a restaurant... never had that happen before.
