Just for Men: How long did it tak you to get your brain and stomach back in syncronization?
Rovobay replied to Nikasio's topic in The Guys’ Room
mental battles are tough for me. I am stalling right now at 9 months out. I find myself wanting to snack. especially at home in the evenings. mental mental mental.... I have a relationship with eating. it is a battle I have always fought. I am happy to say I am winning the war, but lose a battle here and there. I am not sure if the war will ever end, but I am willing to fight it. Happy that nothing makes me sick and I can eat whatever I want, but on that same note, it makes me sad.... I wish I threw up every potato chip, chocolate, candy.... back to kicking ass. that is all we can do. make a mistake and get back on track. (i.e. my intense gym workout this morning) I am going to get that scale moving again! close to goal. want to be there by my surgiversary! -

Contemplating not having the surgery because I like to party?
Rovobay replied to lexiss22's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was an over weight alcoholic. I was faced with a dilemma, die young because of my obesity or lose weight so I can grow old with my family. No brainer, I quit drinking (for the most part... details later), had the surgery. I am 9 months out today and down 116 pounds. I feel great. life is great. I was given a second chance. I do occasionally drink red wine. Bourbon was my daily vice. I have had it once since surgery (on my birthday). Don't let booze control your life. I know you are 21 and it seems like a huge part of your life, but that will wear off. I am not sure of your stats (height/weight) but you are young, this will give you an amazing rebirth. You can still go out and party. Yeah, you can drink. moderation is key. I am glad you found this site. read on here. sooooo much info. it motivated me to do the surgery and has made me successful. good luck!!! -
I hope it is moving for you again. sometimes I just want to throw my scale out the window... stalled for the last 3 weeks. my first real stall. I won't let it get me down. we shall prevail.

@@trulyamazingtoo I try to always drastically mix up my routines... I don't want my body to get use to what I am doing and adapt to it. taking a week of from the gym is an excellent idea!! I have also done fasting days (keeping calories under 600), massive workouts, and cheat days (eat whatever!!!). keep up the awesome work!

Are stalls real or do we just make excuses ?
Rovobay replied to AussieSam's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It is not always important to fully understand the answer to all of life's mysteries... input, output, eat right, be active. the recipe for success (99% of the time, as nothing is a 100% certain.) my scale hasn't moved in 2 weeks. (a first for me) but I have been working out harder and lifting very hard. I know my body is changing and getting more fit even though the scale does not show that progress. -
good luck. who is your doc?
