  1. I should set some marks and rewards for reaching those goals. probably just buy clothes that fit. I am so pumped. I can't wait to get rid of all those large clothes!!!
  2. nice advise above. believe in yourself. you can do it. Tell yourself it will get better, because it will.
  3. are you talking about shakeology? I personally hate peer to peer sales. people pray on friends and family. those business models are not good. if the product was so good, just sell it in a store like everything else. I don't know much about the fitness side. All I know is my facebook is loaded with tons of peer marketing garbage and my friends use those social networks to spread their propaganda. sorry for the vent, but it is annoying.
  4. I lost 15 in the first 10 days after surgery and then halted. I am glad to have read so much on this site, it has me prepared for things just like this. I should really put the scale away, but it is so thrilling to see those numbers drop, knowing that they are NEVER coming back.
  5. @@susis congrats. great work!!! keep it up

    Leak test

    next day for me.
  7. I made a call to the on-call doctor and will go in tomorrow to get it looked at. I was sleeved 13 days ago (Sept 10, 2014) my surgical glue wore off about 3 days ago. tonight I thought there was some fuzz on my small wound furthest to my left where a laparoscopic trocar was used. I started to pull on the fuzz and noticed there was more of it. I tugged a little more and it appears as if it is deeper. I am worried that this is a small piece of a larger portion under my healing scar. I don't want to pull too hard and cause some unwanted damage. I am going in tomorrow to get it checked out. in the mean time, I wanted to show you some pictures I took with my Samsung Galaxy S5 (kick ass camera). have you heard of this? experienced this? know someone who has? I am for the first time a little worried...
  8. @@BeagleLover Best of luck tomorrow. excited for you!!!

    Pureed food stage

I wish there was a consolidated list with all the recipes and ideas on one page.... it would be easier that scanning through page after page of different threads. anywho..... I made this a few days ago. neighbor got back from salmon fishing and brought me over a nice cooked fresh salmon fillet. Since absolutely no one knows about my VSG besides my wife, I gladly accepted the salmon. it was getting late and I needed to do something with that so I turned it into a quick and easy bisque. Salmon Broccoli Cheese Bisque 1 can of Campbell's Cream of Broccoli Cheese 1 can of 1% milk 1 salmon fillet cooked with skin removed (it was already seasoned) 2 ounces of Tillamook Colby cheese black pepper I guess you could add unflavored protein powder as well..... what else would be good in here???? all placed into my vitamix (cold) and set it to soup setting and blended until nice and warm. (my 3.5 year old daughter LOVED it) 2 days later I am still eating it.
  10. pretty easy recovery for me. I went back to work 10 days later. very active and on my feet. barely took pain meds. slept in a chaise lounge for first week as I could not be too comfortable totally flat on my back. hindsight for most, that the small amount of time in pain is well worth reaching your goal weight and a fresh lease on life!
  11. The crazy stuff is actually me!!! My body repairing it's self. Fascia a fibrous elastic collagen. PA my first post using the app... I have 2.5 hours to kill until my first support group eating dinner in cafe. First day on stage 2. Went to salad bar and got some cottage cheese, a sliver of moist chicken, spoon of hummus, and a spoon of hard boiled egg. Ate 4 ounces. Excited to finally meet another live person who has had a VSG!!!
  12. Doc wants me to come in. I go in at 3 pacific to get it checked out. I have a support group meeting at the hospital at 6:30, so I guess I will just stay in the area to avoid at least 40 minute drive each way.
  13. Thanks for the replies. I am not picking at it any more for sure. From what I understand the only incision that got sutured was the largest of five incisions where they removed the stomach, as it was the most manipulated site. @@scrapbasket thanks for the input Sara. perhaps they did stitch it up, that could be the end, but no other site looks like that one. my largest site had a piece of suture coming out and it was a solid plastic, not woven.
  14. Wow. I love reading about everyone's experience. I am happy that for the most part, they are all positive!!! welcome to the few new comers on to this site. and welcome those of you who have been sleeved this week. As for me, I have been back at work and it pretty much wipes me out. moving on to stage 2 diet tomorrow. I can't wait to chew some food.... incision site gets sore from all my movement at work. whatever you do, don't sneeze. worst pain ever.

  17. had 6 gold fish crackers last night.... day before that I had super small amount of mac & cheese.... I did not die. I am ready for stage 2 on wednesday. would really love some cottage cheese!!!
  18. @@CassyLou22 not sure about the 5 hour energy drink. something like that might be harsh on your new sleeve. good luck getting back to work. my first day back it tomorrow. on my feet most of the time.

    It's getting real now

congrats on approval. I am only about 11 days out, but feel great. still some pain at my largest incision. pounds are coming off nicely. no hunger pains at all. I love not feeling hungry. you will find tons of support on this site. you will not regret it. good luck!!!
  20. So I am in my gown, IV in, ready to go into surgery. I am talking with the Doc and asked her if anyone has bailed out of the operation at this exact moment. I was actually surprised that she said yes. I was so excited for this operation I felt no nerves, just pure excitement. I can't believe that someone who has been through all the classes and worked so hard to get to this point would actually bail moments before surgery. did you bail, or know anyone who bailed?
