    Vote now -- 5k or 1 mile?

listen to your body. it would suck to aggravate it even more and be down even longer.

    Not losing enough weight

you got this. follow your plan. loads of great advice already posted. sounds weird, but you need to eat more to lose. body went through major surgery and needs to reprograms itself. hang in there!!!
  11. @@jjinWA 11 miles a day. kick ass!!! so far so good, I have been back to work, seen family. I just swallow the pain and hide it. try to live normal.
  12. @@LadyPullings hope you are okay. my stomach hurts just thinking about sneezing.
  13. I have had a fairly nice recovery, I am proud that I have been getting in all my liquids and Protein, waking, NO pain meds. Then... I sneezed.... holy SH!T, that was by far the worst pain I have ever had. it was located on my large left incision where they remove the stomach and use stitches to close you up. I hope I did not pull a stitch out or anything.... I may take 1 oxy just to recover from that sneeze from hell. anyone else have this problem? I have been coughing every once in a while, it hurts, but not as bad. I prepare myself by applying pressure to that incision. if you feel a sneeze coming on..... try your hardest to NOT sneeze.

Have to get a second sleep study?

sounds like the 2nd one is a fit test and optimizing the best solution for you!
  15. sound advise in above posts. recovery takes time. go easy on yourself and drink your Water. take care
  16. howdy September sleevers!!! so glad to hear everyones progress. just noticed a few people hitting stalls. Please read and understand a phenomenon that they call the 3rd week stall. hits almost everyone. I think it stems from the shock of surgery and the changing diet as you transition into pureed foods. do not worry, stick to your plan. I feel that I have hit that stall and slowed way down from my first 10 or so days when I was down 16 pounds. I am waiting for that large incision to heal so I can work out. today it was sore from a long active day at work and I could really use a day off. I guess I still have a boat load of oxycodone I can dip into, but I would rather not. congrats to each and every one of you.

One year -- then and now

thanks for sharing your story. I am sorry your spouse is not supportive of your healthy life changing/saving surgery, especially with all the success you have had.... jealousy? insecurity?
  18. first off you are in the sleeve section so you will get a lot of pro sleeve talk. I will tell you that I think it is a great option. for me it is because I did not want multiple visits to the dr. to fine tune and adjust the band. also, check out all the signatures of people on here that have had a lap-band to sleeve revision. there is probably a reason for that. there is a whole sub-forum on here just for that subject. first week I lost 11 pounds. I am 2 weeks out and I feel great. the stomach muscle in the largest incision is still sore and that will take a few more weeks to heal, but I am fully back to work in my very active job. good luck on your research. studies do show that you can expect more weight loss with a sleeve, but a sleeve is permanent and not reversible. read read read.
