VSG AND HEARTBURN...ANY REGRETS OVERALL?
Rovobay replied to deftonestiffany's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
never had a known problem until my endoscopy prior to surgery. I guess I had minor GERD. post surgery I am taking pepcid twice a day. I feel the heartburn now. sometimes wake up with that horrible feeling, but still worth it in my eyes. losing weight getting down to a healthy bmi and active lifestyle is well worth a little heartburn. perhaps it will work itself out after a while. I am only 6 weeks out... -

SEPTEMBER 2014 POST-OP SLEEVERS CHECKING IN!
Rovobay replied to Rovobay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@ShortiAKA 85% of the time you throw up while eating? poor thing... did you talk to your doctor about that? that would be horrible. At almost 7 weeks out I think it should be easier going than that. -
SEPTEMBER 2014 POST-OP SLEEVERS CHECKING IN!
Rovobay replied to Rovobay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@*Lexie* I stalled for about a week... so much fun to see the weight drop off daily, then crushing when it stops... I started back up again and back on track. HW 321 SW 303 CW 275 I started hitting the gym more vigorously and fluctuated my calorie intake to boost my weight loss again. -
I am saving this here for later and I hope to add things to it. as I roll into my 6th week and begin my full diet I need more options. I need to keep foods interesting. I am already burned out on greek yogurt.... here is a list of 31 healthy and portable high Protein Snacks. http://greatist.com/health/high-protein-snacks-portable

@jenjo11072013I think it is amazing how far you have come in just under a year. look at those pictures.... they say it all. go to the gym and pick up a couple of 50# barbells and walk around for a few minutes..... feel that weight. that extra weight in your hands is where you were just a year ago. freakin' amazing. you'll get there. keep your motivation and attitude on high. hang in there and CONGRATS. -

The Link Between Depression & Obesity
Rovobay replied to Nick Wray's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Post surgery I don't have that hunger anymore, I am hoping to get addicted to that weight loss and healthy style rather than comfort foods like before. today marks 2 months that I have not had a single adult beverage. (that is a big deal for me as a guy who could put down a liter of whiskey or more a week) -

DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE
Rovobay replied to deftonestiffany's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
CONGRATS!!! what have been his reactions prior to your approval? has he been supportive of this choice? I am sure from an outside perspective people just assume that all these cases are approved and things just move forward. see how things are when you get home. Things now start to get real. perhaps there is fear (there often is) of you losing weight and moving on.... talk in person when you see each other tonight. hoping for the best. take care. -
Seeing the Surgeon next week nevous and excited, will this really help my addiction to food?
Rovobay replied to jackmax's topic in The Guys’ Room
GUYS ROOM........ As an emotion eater, pleasure eater, anytime eater, this surgery has changed my life. I no longer feel the urge to eat, in fact, I have to remind myself to eat. I now control my future. best of luck to you! -
Insurance Question: What does this requirement typically mean?
Rovobay replied to Redsfan19's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
OP, what insurance do you have? others with same program may be able to chime in. 1 year prior weight loss attempts for me were, myfitnesspal (I printed off my weight chart), and other various diets just writing them down with starting weight, time on diet, and ending weight. I have BCBS Federal Employee Program -
Asking all you post sleevers: What do you wish you had known or done before surgery?
Rovobay replied to Sydney Little Merlette's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
pictures and measurements to document your journey in detail. -
GUYS ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @@jrob04 Welcome. I have nearly the same stats as you and @@Recycled too. He sums it up really well. I am 5 weeks out today. I have been hitting the gym as hard as I can, I am not always the best with my Water intake and Protein can be hard to get in at times, but I assume that will be easier once I completely heal in the next week or so. first 2 weeks post-op can be trying, but I just think about what the future has in store for me. I am down 28lbs since surgery date and 46lbs since I started my journey back in July. I think it is well worth the pain. I can't wait to see where I am at in a few months. I have found that logging my calories on myfitnesspal helps me track where I need to be. you can also add several members on here for motivation, meal ideas, and general support. I added @@Recycled to myfitnesspal to get his meal ideas too. this place is a great tool/resource. keep us all updated with your progress and again, welcome!
