Post-OP Workout info, sites, experiences
Rovobay replied to quayle71's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@quayle71, I am m3 months out. I hit the gym about 10 days post surgery but just for cardio the first week or so. at around 3 weeks I started doing light exercises which did NOT touch my core. if I did the wrong exercise I would immediately feel it in my incisions. it wasn't until about 6 weeks that I no longer felt pain at the incision site and went on to a full unrestricted exercising. my first body comp showed that I lost muscle but Doc said that because of my vigorous exercising, I greatly reduced the pounds of muscle lost. nothing fancy, just basic weight lifting on machines and free weights. rotating daily, Protein directly following a workout for better recovery. start my workout with 40 minutes of cardio then finish with about 25 minutes of lifting. best of luck Thursday!!! -
@@Bob B hey buddy. good luck. hope you have a fast recovery. first week sucks, little sore and uncomfortable. I am 3 months out and over 70lbs down now. honestly I forget that I even had a surgery. I was never really nervous, but super excited and ready to get my life back. read all the success stories on here, they will pump you up and motivate you. healthy days are just around the corner. take care.

3 month surgiversary with photos
Rovobay replied to Rovobay's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
3 month post-op appointment yesterday. met with NP, NUT, PT. All were very pleased with progress. I had a body comp done and have lost 20lbs of muscle. I was shocked by that number, but they said it was normal and to be expected. In fact, they said because of my vigorous exercising and weight training, it helped keep that number to a minimum. I am sure that number will even out soon. I will go back in 3 months for my 6 month post op. I want to see if I can get too 100 lbs lost. had blood drawn yesterday as well. I can't wait to see what my numbers look like. blood pressure was good 120/65. I'm a happy dude. -

Congrats. Any tips or points that you have found successful, please share. congrats!!! we are nearly identical starting weight and height. 5'10" 321. I'm 35. you?

Insure Nutrition's Liquid Vitamins
Rovobay replied to Tootles1975's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
good for you. I was not approved... something about insure nutrition being out of network and meeting catastrophic limit. may I ask who your insurance is through? I had Federal Employee BlueCross BlueShield. Sad I don't get free shakes.... heard the liquid Vitamins are gross. -
Weight Loss Surgery Gift List
Rovobay replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
After losing nearly 70 pounds in less than 3 months, I would like to add clothing store gift cards!!! my clothes are falling off. I want to hold out a little bit longer and skip a size, and really wait until I hit goal to completely change out the wardrobe. Merry Christmas -
@@familyguy thanks so much for your awesome 1 year follow up. I too feel that my heartburn will stay.... never had it before but that seems to be a common side effect. to me it is still worth it. Although I am only 3 months out, I feel the same about most of the items you describe above. feels so good to not have all that weight on me, things are so much easier and I feel better about myself too. Thanks for sharing. take care!

How do you guys eat out...
Rovobay replied to TeacherMommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
haven't really eaten out much since surgery. soft taco from taco bell, chicken quesadilla, share a plate with my 3year old daughter. always have leftovers.
