Okay, I have started running. wahooooo.... I am up to 5k (mix of run and walk) complete in under 40 minutes. as I build endurance, I need to learn about form. so many questions that I feel need to be answered in person, by a pro.... I live in Portland, maybe I can "run" into the famous coach/athlete Alberto Salazar and have him give me some pointers. Or go back to high school (undercover) and join a track team.... I really do feel that I need to learn proper form now so I advance correctly. I have no idea what I look like when I run. loosing another 40+ pounds or so would help immensely as well. love this thread.

Why Did You Choose Your Specific Type of Weight Loss Surgery?
Rovobay replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
seemed like so many revisions from lap-band people to sleeve, so I never considered having a lap-band, plus I didn't want something surgically implanted in me and the need for several repeated tweaking/tuning visits did not sound fun. bypass seemed very intense and requirements for lifetime supplements and higher potential for gastric dumping didn't sit well with me. I chose the sleeve and have been very happy. whatever you choose is great, not looking for debate, just sharing my thought process. cheers! -
Pre-op Questions I'm Pondering (I Need YOUR Input)
Rovobay replied to His Fairest's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@His Fairest 1. If you've had the Gastric Sleeve, would you do it again? In a heartbeat. I am so pleased with the results, but this is not accomplished without effort on my part. kicking ass at the gym, choosing healthy foods, quit drinking. 2. What was/were the thing(s) that surprised you the most after you had the surgery? the lack of hunger. I have to remind myself to eat sometimes. the restriction is real, you can feel it. I eat so little now (compared to before). I feel like a new man. hell, I am a new man. -
@@SuperDave cheater.... you go shopping for food at the grocery store? ugh... lol. good points. I tell no one because I don't have the patience or time to explain everything to people.

@@Recycled congrats man!!! I followed you on myfitnesspal and am amazed with how many grams of Protein you get!!! also think about the muscle mass you have gained. hard to compare apples to oranges in regards to weight loss but muscle gain! We are so incredibly similar to our beginning stats and goals. I was 321 at 5'10". hope to get to where you are soon!!! again, congrats, and awesome work!!!

gotta eat your leftovers. I love cooking once and being done for the next several days. less clean up, saves time, etc. I'm going to google this Sous vide thing now....

Today I am 3 months post-op. I can tell you that my life has changed. nothing was given to me and I worked my ass of for every pound. I have logged every single calorie, hitting the gym multiple times a week working out so hard it hurts the next day. I wish I had a photo of me at my high weight... this is me at surgery 305# today I weighed 250# 55 hard fought pounds lost in three months. (last 1 or so I have been in a stall....) I am very private so it took a lot to share with you all, but I think all of your photos have inspired me so I owe it to return the favor.

first of all.... congrats on surgery!!! I really was not fond of shakes after surgery... so tired of chocolate, vanilla, ect. I like sweet things like juices. I have been drinking Syntrax nectar fuzzy navel Protein drinks. that company makes several flavors of fruit flavored drinks. I like to flavor my Water now too. no biggie, just make it low calorie. addicted to iced tea now. things change and will continue to change. roll with the punches and adapt. I also have a Premier Protein ready to drink shake every day for breakfast. it helps insure that I get to my daily goal of protein.
