Rovobay replied to CharlotteWebb's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
congrats.... now the fun begins..... time to kick some ass! -
I always just figured that I will cross that bridge when I get there..... I am happy thus far. a dream come true. I want to hit my goal. see where I stand. dream would be plastics, but it all depends on costs.... I am trying to minimize the effects by lifting and exercising hard. I want to fill the lose skin in my arms with some ripped muscle!!! just another motivator to keep going. good luck!!!

Wow that was a great game. Sure, I graduated a Beaver OSU, but both parents were Ducks and I was raised a Duck. Wonder who they will face for the first ever national championship on the 12th? I actually felt bad for the Noles and all their fans who traveled all that way for such a beat down.

good luck and keep us posted.

hard to compare apples to oranges. everyone is different. look at my stats on the side. evaluate your starting weight, goals, and will. other factors include age, height, other health factors. you know you best. wishing you the best on your weight loss journey.

just started running. I am actually liking it and am singing up for a few races. I see a marathon in my future. cardio is king. do it! when was your surgery? with wls you will have muscle loss. lifting helps reduce that... keep up the great work. if your knees hurt, do elliptical machine first. I had to drop 80 pounds before I felt comfortable running.

How many times a week or month do you weigh yourself?
Rovobay replied to gamecockfan864's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
little psycho about weighing myself. morning, night, all the time. I don't let it get me down but I think it helps me understand my diet too. big dose of sodium (pizza or something salty) it goes up and stays up. hydration. bm. I just don't let it get me down when it stops moving for several days at a time. -
feel inspired. started running just 2 weeks ago. already hit 5k at around 35minutes I can got 2 miles before slowing for a walk. I hope that I can continue. I wrote on here to come back for a follow up. I will google some programs and see what helps me build endurance. Just ran a bit ago (after a very long week), and I am totally gassed.

Post op food questions...
Rovobay replied to Amy86's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
premier Protein is hugely popular with lots of people. it is not sugar-free but it only had 1 gram of sugar per shake which is very low. check out the food section on here. they break it down into subsections for post op folks! welcome to the site. you will be overran with knowledge and support!!! -
you can loose depending on how much effort you put in!!! the VSG is just one of the tools that you will have to help you. the others are the choices you make, i.e. exercise, food, etc. the sky is the limit. believe in yourself. start making those changes now. wrap your mind around this surgery ever moment of the day. you can do it. we are here for you too. welcome to the site!!!

What do you mix your protein with?
Rovobay replied to Marisa1972's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
pretty much just Water with the powdered Protein mixes. my ready to drink Premier Protein is drunk straight. -
welcome to the site!!! 3 months out you should be able to tolerate most foods. chicken, fish, lean meats are all Protein packed. do you log your foods/activity using myfitnesspal? lots of people here do. you can find a thread and add tons of fellow VSG people on there. I am on there (same username). you can see peoples meals it may give you some ideas. hungry is boredom related? I know winters can be tough. do you belong to a gym? others will say that thirst is disguised as hungry... stalls happen. you will get through it.

I failed myself yet again...
Rovobay replied to JerseyJules's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@JerseyJules you had too much time to think about it huh? 4 hours sitting there.... wow. just my 2 cents. I am similar starting height and weight. 4 months out, down 84lbs, running, active, energy, keeping up with my 2 little ones. honestly most of the time I forget that I have even had the surgery!!! I sometimes have to remind myself that I was knocked out and a large portion of my stomach was removed. I hope that you are not too hard on yourself and if you try again, I hope you are successful. cheers mate! -
I need some encouragement
Rovobay replied to gmacy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@gmacy Bro..... seriously 4 pounds a week is crazy nuts.... you have had amazing results with your VSG thus far. don't get upset, but those numbers will slow drastically. prepare yourself. looks like you are doing everything your doc would want. cheers! -
congrats on approval. all the best! keep us updated.

I'm kinda disappointed
Rovobay replied to Gail Ann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Gail Ann keep the faith. have you considered joining a gym? now is the time to start! you are a month out and should be able to start exercising more vigorously (with your docs approval of course). hard to say where you are because no stats were provided. maybe your bmi is already on the lower end.... what is your goal? welcome to this site. it will provide you with unlimited helpful ideas/tools and all the support you need. take care! -
Dumping Syndrome? BM's...And yeah it's all TMI
Rovobay replied to Brandalyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that sucks.... sorry. I think your body is in the process of a reboot/reprogram that will improve with time. #2 works in mysterious ways. I tolerate sugar very well.... I wish I didn't.... it would keep me honest!!! -
Okay, I know this is possible and I hope this site will make it so. Can you lock a room based on your profile so one doesn't "accidently" go into the wrong room? what example I wish to use is the posting by females in the guys room. I am sure there is some code in the persons profile (identifying ones self as male or female) which would open or unlock the guys room (likewise for ladies gone wild room). not only should you not be able to post in the room, but the room should not even be visible to the other sex. if the OP wants the other sex to see the post, the OP should post it in an appropriate room. Don't wanna be mean about anything, but just trying to get the room to be used as it is intended. I feel that some men (myself included) would post more private men only questions but do not because of all the opposite sex traffic.
