    Third time’s a charm

It’s the procedure they use to fix the hiatal hernia.

    Third time’s a charm

Actually my sleeve healed funky so correcting just the hernia wouldn’t “fix” the problem completely. But, was given the option to just fix the hernia and stay on meds anyway [emoji848]. Talk to the doctor and make sure they know what YOU want. It is your body that you have to live with. So, your reasoning was exactly why I chose the bypass. Why keep going through all these procedures???

    Third time’s a charm

Thank you!...Wow! I hope all goes well for you too! During my barium swallow they only seen how nothing was going down so they sent me for the endoscopy where they found the hernia. I’m anxious to get rid of all these symptoms. The worst is waking up in the middle of the night running to the bathroom no matter how long I wait to lay down after eating/drinking anything. It’s the worst feeling when your stomach(or lack of) contracts. It feels as if my insides are collapsing. Good luck with everything and I hope you get your bypass.
  6. I had the lap band in 2009. That failed so it was converted to the sleeve in 2014. Now because I have a hiatal hernia and GERD I’m getting the bypass on Tuesday, 5/8. Hoping for no more issues.🤞🏼

    Gastritis and hiatal hernia

I had the sleeve done back in 2014. I’ve had GERD for most of the time. I recently had an endoscopy and they found a hiatal hernia. Almost immediately upon finding out about my hernia, i was approved for revision surgery on May 8th to get the gastric bypass. Good luck!!

Vomiting white foam and diarrhea, now dizzy

I'm 3 1/2 weeks out and last week felt drained. I couldn't keep much in and what little I could went right through me. I was weak and almost fainted a few times. I finally called my dr. They sent me to the ER for a work up. I was dehydrated and my potassium levels were low. This made my body ache as if I had the flu from the neck down. My head was clear except the dizziness i had. They pumped me full of liquids for 6hours between the saline and potassium. Go to the ER. Don't let it go for any longer. I hope you feel better soon.

    Cramping...

I was sleeved 5/21. I had what felt like really strong hunger pangs every time I sipped my fluids. It went away after about 2 weeks. Just remember you had major surgery and your body is healing. I questioned it too. Bear with it, it'll subside before you know it. Just take it slow.
  10. I had band to sleeve revision on 5/21. Was 214lbs and now 199lbs. I had a lot if spasms from surgery and find it hard to get all my fluids in, but it gets better by the day. Still on clears and Protein until 6/9. Spasms are starting to subside, thankfully. (I think the spasms is what is keeping me from getting my liquids, 'cause hurts every time I sip.) I have those "OMG, what have I done to myself" moments every now and again. But I keep in mind all I've been through since being banded in 2008. Just keep in mind the bigger (smaller) picture. Keep up the good work everyone!!

    Six Days Post Op

My doctor said if I didn't go after 3 days then take the milk of magnesia. So, if you still haven't had a bm, I would go ahead and take it.
  12. Hopefully not much longer!! But no matter what I do (or don't do) they keep coming. I went to my post-op appt. this morning, my Dr. said it's more of a spasm & it'll subside as we heal and take it slow.
  13. Ok, not that I'm happy you had it too, but I'm glad I'm not alone. Hoping it goes away soon. By the way, do you remember how long yours lasted?
  14. Thanks. I take a Prilosec every morning. I know a few people that had the sleeve done and none of them know the feeling I describe. One friend had it two weeks before me and said he was never hungry after surgery. And it's a little more pronounced than just a hunger pang, more like a starving pang.
  15. I'm 3 days post op from band to sleeve conversion, and get what I think is hunger pangs. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? It happens more when I sip my liquids.
