African American Sleevers
justcallitsugar replied to ATLGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know it can be but u have to make this journey your own. I'm only a little over three weeks out and I'm down 21.5 pounds but I had a small 1pound gain but I can't be discouraged I just moved from liquids to pureed foods. I spoke to a girl yesterday who I found out had her sleeve after I did and she is down 31pounds and told me she wasn't exactly following and I was like wow. But I had to think to each it's own this is my journey and I will just continue to work as hard as I can. You will lose more. Talk to your dietician to see what he or she says. In this journey I think support is key. -

I'm a sweet eater to as a matter of fact a pastry chef. I love sweets. I have been eating sugar free jello double chocolate pudding and that satisfies me. -

Are there any Philly sleevers?
justcallitsugar replied to simply_Me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@simply_Me He is!? He is the best and really cares about helping his patients. My follow-up went great. My incision is healing very well Dr. Williams was happy and so was I. I also lost 21 and half pounds since surgery. I was ecstatic! The Dr.Williams and nurses said they could see the difference and I looked good. I was anxious also to start my journey but nervous too. I prayed a lot an still pray for strength to be able to utilize my tool properly for the best success. I'm so grateful n motivated. You will do great! Be encouraged. -

I'm doing very well! I go for my follow-up visit with my doctor tomorrow. I will probably go to pureed foods by then. I really have not felt exhausted. My monthly did come a few days ago and the first day had me out! Only then was a very exhausted. May God bless everyone! Keep up the good work. -

Hello sleevers! I was sleeved on September 30th also and I'm doing very well. I'm not sure how much I have lost because I don't have a scale but I know I feel like I have lost. I got upset bcuz my monthly came and I didn't wanna gain. I don't know. I go back to the doctor on Wednesday so we will see! -
Roll call for Sept 30th...
justcallitsugar replied to TeacherMommy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great! I was on 1,000 calorie diet two weeks before surgery and I had my surgery with an open cut so I was I the hospital from Tuesday til Saturday afternoon. I'm moving around a lot better now. In the hospital I walked around the floor they want u movin. Now I can take a small walk everyday bcuz I'm moving faster. Just being careful of my incision which a nurse came out to check on me and I'm healing phenomenally. I'm so grateful to God bcuz I can honestly say I didn't have a lot of pain. And I know people who had more pain and their surgery was laproscopic. I'm excited about the journey. I haven't weighed myself bcuz I'm getting a scale this weekend. But my other half says he sees I lost already. You keep up the good work and stay encouraged. -

I was sleeved also on September 30th and I feel good! My surgery was open so my recovery time is a little different. I have not had much pain and I walk as much as I can. My doctors said I was a champion and did very well with an open cut. I'm excited for the journey. I wish everybody so much success.
