    Slight fever

Is that fever just today or have you had it since surgery? Running a low grade temp can be normal after surgery. It's a normal reaction. I myself am 13 days post op and yesterday I chilled and had a fever (101.2) slightly less then what is required to call the surgeon. Took 1000 mg of Tylenol and it broke and have not had one since. Had me worried and was weird. I never felt bad though.

Congratulations!!!! Walk as soon as you can to help with the gas. After the swallow test, you'll enjoy water like you never have before, only in teeny sips. Tomorrow won't be so bad. The day after that will be the worst, but the payoff makes it TOTALLY worth it. hey man how do you keep up with vitaminsI take my chewable vitamin everyday and a b 12 and as soon as I'm out 1 month I'll resume my vitamin d.

Omg yes I'm having some of the same problems everything that goes down feels horrible so this makes me not want to drink anything or eat the jello I've been trying apple sauce it helps a lil but my taste buds and sense of smell are off so any and everything I try to get get down taste bad and smells bad I had the taste thing but once I ate some cabs it got better a lot better... It's that your are in major ketosis. It your body burning fat, the byproduct is nasty tasting breath that will alter taste and smell. Not sure if you can just have full liquids but I was allowed to have a full liquids right after I was discharged and I are some creamed soup that's strained and light and fit yogurt. It improved my taste dramatically

I put my soup, as is, in my Vitamix and purée it. I have been having stomach cramps with ANYthing I put in my mouth. The puréed soup did cause them to be any worse. It's is easier on your stomach to digest just a liquid ( basically because there is nothing to it) and when you purée it which is a an eating stage after liquids your digestive system still has to process( because there is now protein/starch) and that can be uncomfortable as evidenced by the previous poster. By the way they make strainers that strain way finer things than a colander. You can get them at walmart, target, Marshall's. Etc .., they are usually made of a fine wire mesh and will make it much easier to strain smaller particles. Hope that helps

Sorry it's been so rough for you. I to had my sleeve on July 14. Initially post op was rough. Lots of pain right under my diaphragm probably air and I had a hiatal hernia repair. I felt better later in the day after some meds and a nap. I too had stomach cramps initially they kinda felt like contractions when I was giving birth. However they got better after they took out the JP drain when I was discharged. I haven't had to take too much medicine since I have been home. Although last night I woke up out of a dead sleep nauseated, which I haven't had much of. I took a sublingual zofran and it helped a lot, but they don't taste that great!! I have also been walking a lot. I did a 2 mile walk with my friend today and that felt good but tired me out.

I was, but I was allowed to have sf jello, strained cream soup and low fat sugar free yogurt too! The fourth day was the most difficult. I did my diet for two weeks and it was over my birthday and the Fourth of July, which I did all the BBQing... I ate a bowl of pudding with extra protein powder while everyone was eating BBQ!!! Definitely not fun but I did not want any complications. I lost 22lbs on that liquid diet and my surgeon told me after the surgery how nice my liver looked. You can do it. It also prepares you for after. I have to eat the same after surgery until my follow up appointment which is on the 30th. I had my surgery on the 14th. I am definitely looking forward to some real food but I will say I'm not really that hungry and right after surgery everything even water tasted horrible.

    Eyes

I only had to wear that patch for 1 day prior to surgery and 2 days after... Even though I said something about the blurry vision the nurse encouraged me to still wear it because the nausea it was preventing would be far worse than not being able to see my phone clearly

@ tabby 76 My surge I said flinstones and viactive were ok. Did you nutritionist say why she did not like them? Also. I work in a busy 100 bed level 3 NICU. I often would not get to eat until late in a 12 hour shift. When I started this journey Feb 6 (I had my surgery July 14th) the nutritionist and surgeon were very concerned because nurses are notorious for not taking care of themselves... So the plan was to carry protein bars with me and most mornings I would make a protein drink to drink in my way to work. It consisted of a Adkins chocolate delight ( because I really liked the flavor) 1 cup skim milk and a scoop of vita cost plain whey protein. This drink had 43 grams of protein. I could before surgery drink it on my way to work which will be difficult now but I think still doable. I do not have to go back to work until Labor Day weekend so I personally will have plenty if time to figure out my plan and I will also be into eating soft/ regular foods. I fortunately like eggs but do you like refried beans? I have seen some delicious recipes with refried beans and I for one can not wait to be able to eat pureed soft foods. As far as indulging in sweet tea and calories drinks you will definitely sabotage your success.

I work in a busy 100 bed level 3 NICU. I am only 4 days post op and won't be going back to work until Labor Day weekend so I have lots if time to figure out my plan... But prior to my surgery I often went all day with out eating because I was busy. I'm a resource nurse and place PICCS. My nutritionist recommended that I keep protein bars with me. I also had a protein drink on my way to work... I could drink this on my way which might be difficult now that my stomach is smaller but it was an Adkins chocolate delight plus 1 cup skim milk and a scoop of plain whey protein. It had 43 grams of protein in one drink. As far as food and protein it is a bummer that you don't like eggs but do you like Beans? I have seen some really yummy refried bean recipes with cheese. If you want tee use Stevia or Splenda. Don't deny yourself just make smart substitutes. Your success depends solely in you and the choices you make. Good luck. Also not sure why she doesn't like gummies or viactive but they were ok'd by my surgeon too.

I'm still home so I haven't had to deal with the challenges of eating frequently at work but before I had the surgery which was just 4 days ago my nutritionist suggested that I keep Protein Bars with me as a way to get calories and protein on my supervised diet. There were days at work that I might not get to eat lunch until. 4-5 pm in the evening. I work in a busy level 3 NICU and I do resource and PICCS so I am super busy most days. I also work 12 hour shifts. I also started always drinking a Protein Drink in my way to work. It was usually Adkins chocolate delight with 1 cup skin milk and a scoop of plain whey protein. That is a total if 43 grams of protein. I could finish that before I got to work which might be difficult now with a smaller .

I don't have any advice but I hope that doesn't happen to me I love dairy , but I do get the impression from others that are much further along in their journeys that things like intolerances change rapidly so maybe this will pass... Good luck!!

    Restless BODY syndrome?

That can be from anesthesia... I was experiencing in the hospital and u googled it. I'm not having it anymore but maybe it takes some people longer to resolve it. It was weird and mostly happened when I was waking up or falling asleep. I haven't had to take a lot of pain meds or anti nausea meds either.

    Nausea after surgery

I'm three days post op-- nauseated right after surgery but not since. My biggest complaint is everything tastes bad even water.

    Eyes

I just was discharged yesterday I had the scopalomine patch-- it gave me blurred vision ( it can cause your pupils to dialate). It also caused me to have bradycardia. My hr was never higher than 55 and at times was as low as 39. It is back to normal now that I'm not wearing the patch.
  19. Only had them while I was in the hospital
  20. I'm now a little over 72 hours post op and I'm home. 2 day hospital stay.... Right after surgery was brutal. I had a hiatal hernia repaired so all my pain was right under my diaphragm. Once I was taken to my room I had to pee. They helped me up and so the dry heaves started. The nurses were very quick to give me anti nausea meds and more pain meds(dilaudid) I fell asleep for 3-4 hours and when I woke it felt line I had been asleep for 8 and I felt so much better. I put on my pjs and robe and took a walk around the hospital floor. I did have spasms but for the most part I was not uncomfortable. I'm home now and I haven't had to take Any of the pain or nausea meds. I will say when they removed the drain before I was discharged that hurt.

    JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

Yeah-I heard you are very sullen after-and should wait a week. I was just sleeved on the 14th discharged on the 16th. For the entire time I was there they had LR running at 125 ml/hr. That is 6 liters if fluids in a very short amount if time. That will add to the weight gain post surgery along with being swollen. I too weighed 4 pounds more then when I went in. I started at 360 was 335 at the start of my 2 week preop diet. Surgery day 314... Couldn't help myself but weighed myself when I got home and was 319, but just now I weighed myself and I was 309. I have been walking and drinking fluids but everything tastes yucky. Although today I ate some strained cream soup and sf chocolate pudding with protein added. Eating some "regular foods" has made things taste a little better.

I guess you are having you surgery today... I came home yesterday. It has not been too bad. Just initially when I came up from recovery. Got up to go pee and it made me nauseas and have the dry heaves... All my pain was right under my diaphragm ( also had a hiatal hernia repaired). After some meds and a 3.5 hour nap I woke up feeling like a whole new person. Pain was manageable. I was up walking the halls. So all in all everything has been good. My only complaint is this awful taste in my mouth makes everything taste yucky. Also spur worried about going #2, (maybe TMI), but it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Thank god for that. Only took pain meds once since I've been home.

I'm having my surgery tomorrow at 730 am. I consider the weight at my first visit with the surgeon to be my start weight. I didn't even see the Nutritionist for another 3 weeks after that appointment
