Didn't know we had a support group! Would also be hard for me to get to.

If it ain't nailed down...

angel, the lapband definitely is not magic. It controls your appetitie, but not your mind. I had my surgery a week ago monday and my mind is still the same as it was before. You will still have your cravings, etc. It's just something you need to overcome. Like today... I cheated and highly regret it. I was bored so I went up to Sonic and got me an order of cheese sticks. I ate four of them and felt like I was going to vomit all over the place. But, now I realize why I got the lapband. I've lost 20+ lbs now and my mind is set of my future. I hope to become married, have children, etc... that is what keeps me going. Find a hobby or something that will keep your mind off of food! -
My dietrician and doctor required 10 days of liquids then 3 days prior to surgery clear liquids.

Mscas3, surgery is a piece of cake compared to the pre-op diet
-
My doctor required blood test, urinalisis, Upper GI, EKG and chest x-ray

Use of Blood thinners pre op
idontcare123 replied to valstar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't take any blood thinners prior to surgery. However, when I got to the hospital they placed these pump things on my legs they pumped up and down. I also received 5 blood thinner shots after surgery. (Not sure what i got during) -

Here is the truth about the band
idontcare123 replied to alysedg23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have any complications. Never even received pain medication after the surgery. Everyone is different and some people handle going under and surgery better. -
Noob here and getting lap band 25 of sept.
idontcare123 replied to enzochiefs's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Considering the pre-op thing, my doctor now has a rule that if someone gains weight between the time when they were approved and to their surgery he cancels the surgery. He also said that when he goes into surgery if it requires the person being cut open he stops there and doesn't do it. -
When you woke up from anesthesia.....
idontcare123 replied to marieze's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I woke up in the operating room after surgery. I kinda had a "why did i do this" feeling. I woke up while the people while getting me into my bed, they kept telling me to lift my legs and i couldn't. I could feel that something was different with my stomach. I never felt any bad pain but the nurse gave me two shots into my iv to keep me relaxed. It was weird because the last thing I remember was hugging my brother waiting to go into surgery and then waking up right after. Everyone still had their masks and hat things on. When I went into recovery i dosed on and off. I think I was having trouble breathing so they gave me an oxygen mask. When i got into my room they kept checking in, etc. During my visit I received 4 blood thinner shots in my stomach, gave blood 2 times. The iv made me have to pee every 15 minutes. -
