Will insurance pay for protein drinks?
catdaddy replied to GADeltaDawn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Crosby@ I tried to find an old bottle or even the case but I couldn't. The new bottle will help a NUT decide if this is a good or bad product. -

@@Djmohr So you have the information for your NUT here's a pic of the main ingredients. The premier blend in question is made up of Milk Protein Concentrate, Calcium Casenate, and Whey Protein Concentrate. Good luck and let us know. -
Will insurance pay for protein drinks?
catdaddy replied to GADeltaDawn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry Crosby for me asking but why is whey protein isolate the only protein a bypass patient can use? If a bypass person is just using a protein drink for a supplement for protein intake that anything would do as long as it was healthy. I'm asking you this because my breakfast has been a premier protein drink for months and haven't seen anything negative about it. -
I'll stick to my protein drink. To me the cost isn't worth it.

Rumbling stomach when I sip liquid
catdaddy replied to icunightingale's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had RNY in Aug 14 and I'm resolved to the fact my stomach will always make loud noises. -
My medical ID says No NSAIDS. It must mean something.

@@binleyvelz I too struggled for years with alcohol and am lucky enough to say 14 months sober. You sound like your questioning your judgment in your drinking habits. We aren't professionals here so please seek out someone that can help you decide what is right for you. I send to you the best of luck and health in your weight lose endeavors.

@@Stevehud Hey Steve, just saw your new pic, look'n good man.

@@teachrissy Well you came to a pretty good place for help. If you can, use the web site instead of the app at first to search through all the subjects, it's easier. You'll find places that are talking about all your concerns and people that are going through your experiences with helpful suggestions. I wish you the best and please stay in touch.

@@teachrissy when was your surgery? No one would complain about losing 48 pounds.

Now this is just about me. There is no chest pain. Do you remember any time when you had diarrhea really bad? If you do, remember you had this stomach pain as the waste is traveling through your intestines. I immediately know I'm going to shit water. I can't even fart without something coming out. Sorry about the graphic detail but it seems some people want to know. Again this is how my dumping is and doesn't represent everyone's experience.
-
Straight from the Mayo Clinic web site: Dumping syndrome is a group of symptoms that are most likely to develop if you've had surgery to remove all or part of your stomach, or if your stomach has been surgically bypassed to help lose weight. Also called rapid gastric emptying, dumping syndrome occurs when the undigested contents of your stomach move too rapidly into your small bowel. Common symptoms include abdominal cramps, nausea and diarrhea. Most people with dumping syndrome experience symptoms soon after eating. In others, symptoms may occur one to three hours after eating. Some people experience both early and late symptoms.

I've been enjoying my pants size drop and I'm wondering what size I'll be at when I hit my goal weight. I'm 5'10" and my goal weight is 165. My pants size has already gone from a 48 to a 38 and with each new size I buy one pair of cheap pants. I can do this because I'm retired and don't have to go out every day. If you have an idea let me know.

Sedentary : Can I lose weight?
catdaddy replied to meyouus's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ When I started my journey in Aug of last year I was physically limited and therefore didn't exercise. I lost weight for several months then it stopped. By then I was taking in more calories because of my sedentary life style and I stopped losing weight. I was lucky that my medical insurance covered PT and I used it. I'm still limited on the length of time I can exercise but it's enough now that I can do it. So yes you can lose weight, but for me it wasn't enough to reach my goal so I had to do exercise. -
How often do you poop? Don't be shy!
catdaddy replied to Bronco0605's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the info. I never heard of this until I read your post. I went and looked it up on the internet and read all around great reviews about the product. As a result I just ordered the two pack from Amazon. -
Hey Bigsky, I can't imagine what you're going through. I do know about bad weather. I dislike it so much I retired in the southeast. I've been watching what's going on in the northeast and I hear even more bad weather is coming your way. I commented to my wife just tonight about how nice it is living down south. Today I even spent most of the day outside doing some wood work. Maybe by the time spring arrives up there you'll be ready to hit the gym. Best of luck.
