My name is Tracy. I'm a Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, cancer survivor, and nurse. I found Bariatric Pal when researching for Kindle Fire e-books on Amazon. I tried to have surgery almost 4 years ago but was denied because I had to be cancer free for 5 years. I went to my checkup with my oncologist in January of this year and asked if he would permit me to have the surgery but explained bariatric clinic wouldn't even talk to me. My oncologist knows the head of bariatric clinic and emailed him after my appointment. The next day I heard from the bariatric clinic :-) My surgery date is May 20, 2014. I'm excited and scared at the same time. I endured abuse over the years and have always protected myself with my weight (if that makes any sense.) The weight will be gone and I'm nervous about how I will feel. I've dealt with the negative effects of abuse and am over it. I'm stronger for it. I'm pretty goofy (love life) and don't take anything for granted.
