    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

I was sleeved on June 3rd. Still on what they call pre-select foods (fruitless yogurt, refried beans, soft eggs, etc.) and protein drinks. The only one I found that I can stand is the Atkins Low Carb w/ 15g per shake. I tried Isopure before surgery and it was ok, but for some reason, now I can't stand it...and we loaded up on it. Great! I keep trying one every few days to see if it goes down any better. Getting better at the water/clears, but still not close to 64oz - maybe 48 on a good day. Did anyone hit a stall at around 2 weeks? I haven't had any movement for 4 or 5 days. I know my body could be catching up; but I guess I just didn't expect a stall this soon. I'm down 25 pounds since the start, and 14 pounds since day of surgery. Am I having to great of expectations? Trying to get more walking in, but I'm just now starting to feel half way normal again. Still having some pain around the big incision; how long before that goes away? Still hurts to bend over completely and I have 2 small kids I have to take care of - so there have been instances where I've had to move them. My whole rib cage feels like I got beat up! Thanks all!

    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

Been a few days since I posted last; trying to rest, husband getting ready to go back to work and getting things stocked up for the kids. I quit taking the pain medicine because even the smallest dose made me nauseous and feel like I was drunk; ringing ears and all. So the pain isn't quite as controlled as I'd like right now but I'd rather deal with that than the side effects of the pain medicine. Sleeved on June 3rd - and I'm still trying to get in all the liquid - and I'm starving!! I tried Isopure before surgery and it was tolerable, but now the taste has seemed to change. The shakes are even sweeter to me than before, but I manage maybe one throughout the day. Today was the first day that I managed almost a whole Isopure. Made the kids grilled cheese and tomato Soup for dinner and I did have about 2 to 3 oz of tomato soup and man, was it divine!! Seems to have gone down ok. Anyone have advice on diet - mine seems very vague and my surgeon tells me to get a hold of the nutritionist at the hospital and she says there is a post op class the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month...well, that's next Monday. I'm going to email and see if I can more guidance but thought I'd look here as well. My guide says full liquids for 7 days then to soft foods - I would think there would be a transition period like soup, applesauce, yogurt, etc...or is that all part of the liquids stage? Tuesday will be a week, so I know I'm not far out, but still wondering. I've googled diets and there is a lot of variation - from SF carnation instant Breakfast, to Protein bars during week 2 and so on... Thanks!! [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:16290]

    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

Hello and welcome! How did your surgery go ?? I have mine the 11th. Hi - Surgery went well. Still sore, but seems to get better a little every day. Having trouble getting down all the Protein and liquids. Finding it a little difficult to watch the kids/hubby eat and I'm here sipping on Isopure, but I keep reminding myself it will be worth it - give it time and eventually I can join them again, just with smaller options.

    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

Hello! New here. Sleeved on June 3rd...
  6. Hi All - I just joined, but have been reading for a while, and the support on here looks great - and I'm sure we all need that. I'm scheduled for June 3rd, as long as all pre-op goes fine. Anyone on here have experience with Dr. John Weaver in Denver? I finally decided to have weight loss surgery after getting a good look at myself in a full length hotel mirror...Argh! I've tried several "diets" with no long term success and I want to be around for my kids, my husband and family. I so want to feel comfortable taking my kids swimming or enjoy playing ball with them, riding bikes and so on. Not to mention not deal with health repercussions in the future. I'm really hoping I can find some pals on here - my husband is supportive of this. My mother, not so much. I know it's going to be a big lifestyle change - forever - and feel like I need this "tool" so that I can be of proper weight forever and stop the up and down. [/url
  7. Awesome! What hospital/center are you having surgery at? What are you eating for your pre-op diet? I'm still trying to figure stuff out for post-op diet...I ordered some unjury Protein mix and I can't stand them. I can do the Isopure; so I will be stocking up on those... Glad to meet you and good luck to you too.
  8. I am having the exact same feelings. I, too, start pre-op diet next week and hope I can follow it like I need to. I am also a little overwhelmed w/ trying to figure out Protein choices and what to have for after surgery. A lot of information and protein formula's. I'm sure I will, but at first it's like oh my... I'd love to stay in touch and encourage each other, share trials and successes and so on.
