Thank you I tried an egg and it made me feel sick so I'm going to wait a while before I try one again but I pray that cheese is still good, I loved cheese too.

When can we start eating normally? Confused.
Kissifur replied to ssbills's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can agree with that. I like the term "diligent" vs obsessed which is what I am not up for. Congratulations on your success! -
When can we start eating normally? Confused.
Kissifur replied to ssbills's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am two weeks post op and 35 years old. I have resolved to follow my Dr's plan but in no way do I intend on being on a life long diet. I'm not sure what my eating will look like in a year but I want to live and not be in a constant state of worrying about pounds and food. That does not seem like any better of a life then I had before surgery, going from one extreme to another. -
Congratulations!!! That is motivational. If you don't mind me asking, What was your starting weight?

I just notice this last night. When I ate whatever I wanted I just looked at it as dinner ideas but now that I am on full liquids it is highly annoying.
-
Congratulations on your new journey and new life!

I agree with your boyfriend. I have 5 year old twin boys and they are beyond a handfull and I never really feel that I get to give one special attention like I could if I just had one. BUT if by chance you do have twins you will find the strength and love to handle it.

This is really hard.
Kissifur replied to Ballinallthetime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If I can give you a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel after a week I am pretty much pain free barring a sneeze or cough here and there and I have not taken any meds in 2 days. -
This is really hard.
Kissifur replied to Ballinallthetime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am one week out and can tell you there are no secrets to make it easier but I can say I was just where you are now and it does get easier everyday just keep doing what you're doing. Walking and sipping I can already see a big difference in how much fluid I can get in. Well I did get some advice that helped with water "drink it cold" and that has been working for me. However my walk today was still just a tad bit faster then a snail. Truly it does get better everyday. -
What is the real point of this surgery?
Kissifur replied to powaqqatsi's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Per my Nut it takes 3-4 months to develop a habit. So for me the point of the surgery is to take the next 6 months of restrictions to learn new habits. Granted I am only one week out but I have learned that I have more control of what I eat then I ever thought before. Just because I crave it doesn't mean I have to eat it. My hope and plan is to emerge from this as someone who can sample a decadence and not eat every drop until it is a distance memory. I love your question because it made me really think. Success for me is not to diet the rest of my life but to develop a healthy, normal relationship with food. -
6 Days Post-OP - My surgery experience...
Kissifur replied to jrsygrl007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I share the same date as you. 80oz of fluids PLEASE tell me your secret. However I am right there with you with the protein shakes. It takes forever with them not that I dislike them I just have no desire to drink it. My hunger comes and goes really quickly and is not a big deal. -
I am 5 days out and think the word only should be dropped. I'm proud of each of you! You have committed to a very difficult undertaking (if a say so myself :)and you are half way there so in 8-10 weeks if you keep with your current pace you will reach your goal. Congratulations! !

Remember this is your journey. Unfortunately the people we need the most are emotionally unavailable. The upside is that you will have to depend and support the most important person in all of this YOU! . I only had one friend not agree and she stepped lightly but was still say the same. I thanked her and told her I know she cares for me but this is about me and I am comfortable with my decision. The funny thing is she was the first person to show up to the hospital to visit me.

relationship with significant other
Kissifur replied to JenSul's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have wondered about how weight loss affects a relationship when one person is still overweight. My husband is not overweight by much but I want to make sure I continue to love him for him like he has done for me. -
The internal struggle and you not caving proves you are very strong. I'm 4 days out so I totally understand. I can smell food like an animal.

Because I'm happy, clap along if you feel like a room w/o a roof.
Kissifur replied to Jenelle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What stuff for taking a shower? They only called to tell me no deodorant, lotion, or nothing in my hair and use a mild bath soap. Needless to say I wasn't smelling like roses -
Another Puree Phase Question
Kissifur replied to ArcusX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
According to my Nut it is important to progress through the stages so you can eventually handle solid foods again and so your digestive muscle do not become "lazy" I hope you feel better soon I'm 4 days out and will start full liquids tomorrow. -
I was sleeved on the 5th and my Dr said 1-2 weeks depending on how I feel. It was the highlight of my discharge meeting!

Bariatric Bullies--You know who you are!
Kissifur replied to Time4Kindness's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you, I am scheduled for surgery on June 5th and have been apprehensive about posting questions because of what you have described. The site is not very user friendly in terms of searching so I can see why some people find it easier to post a question. -
Recently Lost a Best Friend Because of My Decision to Get Bariatric Surgery
Kissifur replied to Sharon C.'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I read the blog and the comments online and sadly you are NOT losing a best friend, she is. She listed a lot of qualities about you that I would love to have in a friend and would not give up so easily but stand by and support through thick and thin (no pun intended) and if losing you is worth it that's her loss not yours. She has made your journey about her. She has made a decision to put herself first, now you do the same with or without the surgery. -
I have identical twin boys as well, they are 5. That pregnancy was the one that did me in!

June 9th Sleeve - Looking for friends!
Kissifur replied to IfICanDream's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Im June 5th and I only have to do liquid for the day before. I wish it was longer so I would avoid this food funeral I am having. -
My surgery date is June 5th. On the 4th I have to do a liquid diet. I am so nervous but preparing for my son's prom and graduation has kept me occupied.

I am scheduled for June 5th and I am pass nervous. Everyday I wonder if I am making the right decision. However I am drawing strength and inspiration from others in the forum.
