Dr. Jalil Illan with Baja Bariatrics and Omar Acosta - A Warning
Kissifur replied to *susan*'s topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
No sweetie I actually minored in African America studies and trust me it is extremely hard to offend me because I am more than capable of holding my own. I was clarifing that it is in fact a negative stereotype and if I'm not mistaken it was meant to be since most people on this thread have come to agree that the man in question is an A** hole and the women are victims (or are they whinners too?) -

Sorry but Latin Lover is a slur. I'm am not of Latin decent however during my studies that particular stereotype was addressed. Even if some don't find it offensive it is no different than the lazy Black or drunk Indian. -
My Dr gave me capsules that I can open and take the beads until I am able to swallow it.

Stalling and hating it!
Kissifur replied to sawzaw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am pretty new at this but I thought stalls are pretty normal since we can't realistically expect our bodies to lose non stop with out any recovery. I don't weigh myself so I don't know if I have experienced one yet. -

Am I being too sensitive?
Kissifur replied to *Lexie*'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you are a little sensitive but I also understand why. Our decision to have the surgery is often challenged so I can see why it was hard to hear that from someone who you thought understood. However it was a good question because some people do lose the weight and think they can do it on their own. I know I did for a really short second. However most of us realize that losing and maintaining is a totally different story. Don't let everything get you down this is a bumpy road focus on the outcome. -

Nope you don't... you just have to understand that this is not the typical "diet" so not following the rules especially so early out is VERY dangerous. Trust me I understand what you are going through I am barely almost 5 weeks out but we can't take this wonderful opportunity and waste it so back on your plan you go.

Beating myself up :(
Kissifur replied to bellaaa_vita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it is important to take emotion out of eating, including regret. This is not a diet this is your life and one bite is not going to derail all your hard work. I know it's hard when we have failed so many times at so many diets but what's different this time is you have an amazing tool helping you. You will be fine get back on the horse and let yourself be "human". -
Divorce rates and WLS. (link to article inside)
Kissifur replied to bflblog's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am in several other support groups and there are a lot of people that have gotten divorced. Although I am sure that there are many reasons that led to that point. My husband and I have been together for 20 years since I was 15(not overweight) and he was 16, my mom had to take custody of him when we were younger and I still made sure to talk with my husband about the possibility since our relationship will change because I am changing. Even though deep down we both know we have a strong marriage. -
You need to contact your doctor. I had the same symptoms and issues with water and protein around week two. It turned out I was severely dehydrated. After receiving several bags of IV fluids (3 to be exact) I was doing much better the next day. Although I still can't drink those horrible shakes. I hope you feel better soon.

Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Kissifur replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gained two lbs at the three week mark as well. My doctor said don't be concerned with that right now its hard but I don't use a scale at home to avoid stress. -
My husband felt the same way. He said he would support me but didn't feel that I needed the surgery. As it turns out he has been my biggest supporter. Give him time and continue to talk about it with him. He doesn't have to agree to love and help you through it.

So whats your meal plan 6 or more months out now
Kissifur replied to jaysleever's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Your meal plan made me smile inside. I am only 3 weeks out but I love to know that one day I can find a healthy balance. -
Hello I'm doing pretty good and you? I was sleeved on the 5th as well.

Today is the day I have been dreaming about for almost 3 weeks, I can start soft foods. However now I have no desire to eat and find that I am a overwhelmed with where to start. I have read to introduce one new food a week. Does that mean I should only eat scrambled eggs all week?

Thanks for the ideas I am going to try tuna next.
