  1. I am 7 months post op and I have to watch what I eat every day. I still feel the restriction of my sleeve, but if I drink alcohol or make bad choices like eating ice cream with my kid, I don't lose. If you make bad choices, it's easy to put too many calories in a sleeve. But if you choose protein over carbs every day, you should be fine.

    Is it odd

I'm 7 mos post op and can eat 4-5 shrimp. Definitely talk to your doctor about this. The calorie count sounds right. You're probably fine if you're following your program guidelines but it can't hurt to ask/check.

    Alcohol

And just be careful. Transfer addiction is a real thing.

    Alcohol

I was a big drinker before surgery, and I'm a social drinker now. I only allow myself to drink at parties. Wine and mixed drinks without carbonation go down way too easily. You have to be careful bc it's easy to drink too much (both in that you probably have a lower tolerance than before and in that you're getting too many calories). I notice that weeks when I drink, I don't lose, so I try to avoid it. I'm 7 months out. When I drink now, light beer is the best choice for me. The carbonation discomfort keeps me from drinking too much. It might be downright painful if you're newly post op though.
  5. So I finally hit my first real stall - earlier times when I thought I was stalling were really just slow-downs (3-4 weeks of only losing a pound or so). I haven't list any weight in 3 weeks, and have seen my first gain since surgery. My plan is to rein myself in and eat my program exactly. And I guess I'll start tracking again on MFP. Any other advice? How did you break a long stall like this? I really want to lose at least 100 lbs this year.
  6. Ps I do work out -- 4-6 hrs/ wk and have been keeping that up.

    Its NEVER enough

I'm 6 months out and 90 lbs down. Now a size 10. I have had a couple of "wow" moments. I feel like the same person, but I don't really feel like a fat person anymore. Big, maybe, but not fat.

    Coffee?

A couple months out for me. I'm now 6 mos out and have one cup per day, but it takes all morning to drink. I keep reheating it in the microwave. Totally worth it.
  9. Almost 5 months out, and I finally hit that 75 lb mark. Took some pics to celebrate!
  10. There aren't specific exercises I did. I play sports, and that's about it. I guess that's just how my skin goes? But I do have excess, loose skin that hangs down. It's just in the lower stomach, so covered by the shorts in most of the pictures. Sorry I don't have anything better to share. Good luck!
  11. Does anybody else have heartburn 5 months out? I just can't seem to get rid of it. For the most part I'm eating right and staying on my program. I don't think that it's diet related. How do you manage it? Do you just take Omeprazole forever?
  12. @@brandnewme2015 thanks! I exercise HARD and LONG twice a week, cardio. Aside from that, I try to get at least another day in per week of light exercise or strength training. Plus I chase around a toddler full time. I haven't done any specific ab work. I actually have some pretty horrible looking loose skin, but it's covered by the shorts in the picture. My stomach is the last place I gain, so it's usually the first place I lose. Just luck, I guess. Good luck to you!!
  13. LOVE all the photos! (especially the weight lifting one!) You look fantastic! Congrats!
  14. I don't drink liquor at all, so I can't speak to that. But, for me, wine=major heartburn and beer=painful gas. I try to avoid alcohol as much as I can.
  15. Thanks for all the kind words! Sometimes I can't see how much I've lost, and putting the pictures together like that, in the same clothes, really helps. @@jenpoo , nothing special, advice-wise. I just work the program my doctor gave me as best I can. Oh, and I do use Jergens firming lotion almost daily. Not sure if it helps, but it makes me feel better! @@Okiebon ,I exercise regularly, but I don't do any special ab exercises. My stomach is the last part of me to gain weight (butt and thighs are always first), and it was the first part to lose. I've lost 12" in my hips and 11" in my waist. Yes!
  16. whoops meant to post this in post-op, but might be encouraging for pre-ops!
  17. I am vomiting blood = Estoy vomitando sangre. I hope it's nothing to worry about! Focus on resting, healing, and getting your fluids. <3
  18. I'm about 4 months out and down 70 lbs. I find that, at this point, I *must* stick to the program to see a loss. What about you? How long ago was your surgery? How closely do you stick to the food/exercise plan you were given? Are you losing well?
  19. I've been sliding off track. My goals for this month are: * Stay on program all month * Track daily with MFP * Lose 10 lbs * Daily exercise (at least a little, in some form, even if just a walk) Do you have goals for this month? What are they?
  20. Surgery on Halloween and down 67 or 68 lbs? @@resipsa89 I am also stuck at 191! I seem to be stalling this month so I am also upping Protein and cutting carbs. Good luck to us both!
  21. I'm starting to worry about my weight loss. I'm almost 4 months out of surgery. In the past few months, I've lost 2 lbs here, 0 lbs there, 1 lb, etc. This entire month is shaping up to be less than a 5 lb loss (unless something changes quick!). Is it me? Should I be worried? Is this normal at this stage? I still want to lose another 30 lbs, and I'm worried that this is where my weight will settle. Is this a stall? I'm still losing a very little per week. If it's a stall, when can I expect the weight to start moving again? Help!
  22. Note: My diet hasn't been perfect (nor has it been horrible) and I've been trying to tighten that up, without much success so far. I am exercising regularly, but not daily.
  23. I feel like my adherence to my post op diet has really been slipping since the holidays, and I am not able to rein it in. Lots of little cheats here and there, and my weight loss has definitely suffered. Did you stray and get back on track? What did you do? Was it hard? Aaaah I need help!!
  24. 24 is a great first month loss! Congrats!
