Plastics in Mexico - questions for those who have gone
AZDee replied to Bluesea71's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Well I would love to talk about my wonderful surgeon who did my RNY 12 years ago in Ensenda Mexico but he has since retired so, there's no way to refer people to him, so I am left only to speak about surgeons who someone may be considering. Hope just because I don't have a bariatric surgeon to talk about doesn't take away from my review of my various surgeons I have used in Mexico. You can look at my profile and read up on my weight loss journey if you wish. You will find that my RNY did really nothing for my long term weight loss, and that it was 4 years ago that I finally lost my weight after doing the HCG diet so I really don't talk much about it, I don't blame my RNY surgeon only myself but there might me other reasons a person doesn't gush about there other experiences. I'm not on here to push any Doctor and if you know me and have spoken to me you would know I will be using yet another Doctor to finish up my plastics later this summer... -
Plastics in Mexico - questions for those who have gone

I missed the part about the drains....I had hoped that my drains were removed before I left after my Lower Body lift last year, but they weren't so, I had to travel with them, but it wasn't a big deal since I used a wheel chair, (I could have walked but I was traveling alone and had carry on luggage) so they did the wand scan at security it was no big deal...when it was time to get ride of the little buggers, I pulled them out myself, it didn't hurt at all and I was GLAD to do it!!! -

I had a breast lift with implants and yes, they are the very same ones that are sold in the states, you have your pick of the type and brand of your choosing. I was a little concerned about complications too, so that is why I chose to go to Tijuana since it's just 5 miles south of the border. Turns out I had no complications, and when I did go home I was contacted by my surgeon several times a week in the beginning just so he could follow my progress...It was a very easy process for me, I would do it again in a heart beat. -

I know what you are talking about with cut under the butt, it's part of his spiral lift. I don't believe I will be getting that...But my original surgeon wanted to do a 2 part butt lift with a cut like that in the second part. But since I am not going back I don't think I will be having it done. I don't really care about having a round plump rear...I'm more concerned about having skinny thighs! That would be a dream... -

Most likely those in need of PS following a large amount of weight loss will require someone who specializes in that type of PS. I had to travel in order to find such a surgeon in whom I was very pleased. Now I am planning my last surgery and will be using a different surgeon simply because it's a more difficult surgery and my current surgeon does not feel comfortable performing this surgery on me, which I am thankful for his honesty. So that being said, I am traveling to San Antonio, TX to have a long thigh lift with Dr. Peter Fisher, who is one of the leading surgeons dealing with large weight loss patients. It's worth it in the long run to travel to find the best. I plan on spending 2 weeks in Texas...it will be my vacation this year! -
I'm 61 and have pretty much had the works done...still planning one more surgery this summer...I may be in my 60's but my body sure doesn't look it. Check out Dr. Peter Fisher, from San Antonio. On his website he shows a woman who is 65 who also had a lower body lift and arm lift...she looks great.

Posterior Body Lift with Auto Augmentation- Anyone have the auto augment done?
AZDee replied to AvaFern's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had the Brazilian butt lift when I had my LBL done last year. The back flanks (the back flap fat, still attached to the blood source) were inserted into the butt to add fullness. This procedure is far superior to just adding fat as they say 1/2 of that can be reabsorbed into the body. I had my surgery with Dr Victor Gutierrez he did really nice job. there are pictures on my page or also at realself.com -
Plastics in Mexico - questions for those who have gone

I have had PS twice in TJ, both Doctors were located in Zone Rio, which is the business District. My first experience was at the CosMed Clinic which is state of the arch and beautiful but the head of PS did my surgery and my results were just okay...so the next time I went with a surgeon whom I had seen some of his work and was very impressed, that was Dr Victor Gutierrez who also runs a smaller clinic in the Rio District. I was very pleased with the outcome and care with Dr Gutierrez. I had no issues going to Mexico as Dr G. picked me up from the San Diego airport himself, (as he likes to do that if he has the time so he can get to know his patient during the 1/2 hour drive to his clinic) and took me to my 5 star hotel where I stayed the night before surgery and then for a few days after I left the recovery house. I traveled alone and felt very safe... -

I had my LBL with Dr Victor Gutierrez in TJ and he did a wonderful job..not only a board certified PS but he also has a specility in Micro-Surgery so his fine detail sewing is flawless, which was very important to me, as I have seen some pretty ugly looking scaring and mine is hardly even noticiable now, which is still under a year out. -
How are people paying for plastics?
AZDee replied to hkdontplay's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
My LBL was about $8,000 but that also included the brazilian butt lift and a inner thigh lift...Prices do vary according to just how much work needs to be done, so that's why I don't like to quote prices, so people arent offended if their estimates are different... -
Anyone Have Calf And Ankle Lipo?
AZDee replied to dolphintattoo's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Check out Dr Peter Fisher in San Antonio, he is the only one who deals with the calves that I know of. He is a expert with previously obese patients. I have seen some of his work and it's incredible. He does a lot of long thigh lifts extending past the knees and I know he has done fine lipo to the caves of a friend of mine. -
Since I am pretty new here, I have noticed that there is a lot of interest in Plastic Surgery in Mexico. Having just had my LBL done down there 7 weeks ago I thought I would share about it. Having surgery in Mexico, is not new to me as I had my RNY done in Ensenada back in 2003. Then last year I had three procedures done, a lower face/neck lift, arm skin removal and a breast lift/implant all due to the weight loss. At that time I did not do all the checking that I should have and didn't pay attention to the red flags I saw, but went ahead and went to the "Fancy Clinic" all made of white marble and glass. Well the center was nice but my results didn't turn out so great, as I am now in need of having two of the procedures completely redone. So please do your homework, do not just go by what someone tells you. Why well I have seen raving reviews from a person whose photos show horrible work. I was like that too, I saw improvements in the beginning and the fact that I had sung the praises of this certain PS, I was ashamed to later say I was wrong, it wasn't until people started telling me they wanted to go to my PS that I knew I had to come forth and say something, as I did not want to be responsible for anyone's bad outcome. All I will say about The Vida Clinic, is do your homework, don't just check out the good reviews but also the not so good ones. Pictures do not lie... So today for me to give a good review of a Doctor you know he has to be pretty darn good.Thankfully for my recent surgery I found just such a Doctor. It took me a whole year to do so. I spoke with Doctors from Tijuana to Monterrey, even driving out to Beverly Hills to met with Plastic Surgeons. Some were great just way over my budget as in $40,000, where others had great prices, but not so great cut lines and sewing. I checked out every online site there is, reaching out with phone calls to past patients. I saw some incredible incision and sewing lines done by this one Doctor, who I was a little nervous about since he didn't have as many reviews as other Doctors had, but had the highest marks from the viewers that he did have. So I took a chance and called and spoke with him for quite a while, I felt good so I took a leap of faith, and I am so glad I did, because he turned out to be a master at his craft. Not only is he a board certified Plastic surgeon he also has a specialty in Micro-Surgery, thus those perfect incisions and sewing lines. He had his Plastic Surgery training all done in Israel where the standards are some of the highest in the world, which I am sure why he is so above the rest. I flew into San Diego and Dr. Victor Gutierrez picked me up himself! so we could get to know each other on the short drive down to his clinic. Later that day I had a two hour mark up...He is very detailed minded. Next day surgery, spent the night at the center, and I woke up feeling great, since he uses twilight sedation, you don't get that horrible anesthesia hangover. And just as he said, I was not in any pain. This is after having a full stomach muscle repair. When I asked about how this could be, he explained it was due to the gentle way in which he handles the tissues.... Well recovery went well and on day 7 after surgery I was on my way back home. A quick trip to the San Diego airport where there was a wheelchair to greet me I was soon home. The best part is that all my stiches were internal so no waiting to have the stiches removed and this way the incision line remains very pencil thin... I have posted some pictures taken at two weeks on my profile. So if you are in need of a Great Surgeon for any of your extra skin removal, I highly recommend my new surgeon Dr. Victor Gutierrez

Scsleever, The first set of surgeries I had was a lower face lift and neck lift, which was badly needed after the weight loss...I don't recommend that surgeon however, my facelift turned out okay, but my new surgeon says it could have been much better. He (Dr. G.) will be doing my brow and eyes when I save up some money. When I was down there with Dr Gutierrez having my lower body lift. I met two ladies who had just (the week before) had facelifts with Dr G. and already they looked beautiful, so with his fine skills doing such intricate work such as a face, he will be the guy for me when the time comes...

TT-stitch the abs together or no? Advice please!
AZDee replied to hadouni's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Although my stomach wasn't really one of my many problem areas, my surgeon did resew my stomach muscles. For weeks I wondered what that was under my skin it felt so hard. Finally my husband told me those are your muscles! I guess they were missing for so long I forgot what it felt like to have them in my lower stomach. Just this week I ate something that didn't agree with me and it gave me bad gas, I could fill mystomach swelling only this time it didn't stick out like it would have in the past. I must say it was a very weird feeling....I felt like I was going to pop but you couldn't tell!!! -
Reputable Plastic Surgeons in Mexico
AZDee replied to healthbound1's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I used two different Plastic Surgeons in TJ, one I wasn't that thrilled with. His name was Dr Q and he did a really sloppy job on my breast and my arms....BUT then I started to see incrediable pictures of beautiful work, from another TJ plastic surgeon, (And really isn't that what it's all about?) The most affordable outstanding work possible My new surgeon who did a lower body lift, gave me those results, Dr Victor Gutierrez also in TJ. For me it was a no brainer, he does all internal stiching, so you don't have to spend any longer than one week and it's just 5 mins across the border, they pick you up at the airport and return you there when it's time to go home....I have pictures posted on my page here at just two weeks out from surgery. I am planning on going back down to have some revisions done from the first surgery I had with that other surgeon...Dr Gutierrez will be correcting those... -
It has to be Dr Victor Gutierrez, I have visited several down there and hands down he is the best! you can read my account of my lower body lift with him, on my page here or visit realself.com and read up on him and read many excellent reviews. My name is the same over there AZdee Good luck here is a web link for him also drvictorgutierrez.com Good luck and if you want any info just message me!

Interested in Arm lift in Mexico
AZDee replied to alxmak1021's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
You owe it to yourself to check out Dr Victor Gutierrez, he did "sweet pea's" (I believe that's her name here) and her results are the best I have seen. Dr G did a lower body lift for me in May and the results are wonderful, he will also be doing a revision of my arm surgery I had the year before (also in TJ but with Dr Quiroz) which didn't turn out so well...you will find him at drvictorgutierrez.com His prices fall in line with all others down there. The biggest difference however is not only is he a board certified Plastic Surgeon, he also has a speciality in Micro-Surgery so his cutting and sewing are flawless. He was trained in Israel where the standards are some of the highest in the world...Besides all that, he's a really sweet man that cares about his patients. His operation is not a money making machine like some of the ones you will come across down there....Good luck in your searching, take your time, this time around I interviewed over 10 Doctors before making my decision. I learned my lesson the first go around! -

Yes...Dr. Victor Gutierrez (I have to add the Victor as there are two in TJ) Can you believe someone from another site, (realself) was so impressed with my surgical scars she contacted Dr Gutierrez and made a sugery date sent and check and everything only to find out she sent it to the wrong dr Gutierrez!!! -
I went to Dr. Victor Gutierrez. I saw some of his lower body lifts and knew he was the guy for me. Not only is he a board certified Plastic Surgeon, but he also has a specialty in Micro-Surgery so his cut lines and sewing are simply flawless. After seeing some really bad looking outcomes I was pretty scared to have such a cut but now you really can't even see my scar. I wrote a review of my surgery on realself.com I use the same name over there...

I had never been cut before, so I wasn't one for elective surgeries, but after my weight loss, I became so depressed by my jowls and my turkey neck, not to mention my batwings or my empty sock boobs....which all led me to have surgery. Best decision I ever made. I had a lower face/neck lift, breast lift/augmentation and arm surgery all at the same time. Then the following year I had a lower body lift with a Brazilian butt lift....

Everyone is different I had a lower body lift this past spring, I spent a week out of state recovering then flew home and was back to work with in that week...I took it slow but I felt great...I was in pretty good shape before surgery so I am sure that helped with recovery, not too bad for a 60 year old woman...
